Good luck! I’m having reasonable luck with FB sales, especially on specialist clothes sales pages for brands. There’s one called Fabulous Handbags, shoes and accessories where your LK Bennett’s will do well, price to sell but I reckon if in good condition should make at least £40-50. Local Fb selling pages are a nightmare as everyone wants to angle you down to about a quarter of what you ask.....list it for a tenner and they’re all, “wud u take £2 hun”
With eBay I now list everything Buy It Now for what I want to get, with an accepts offers button. It all goes eventually, but you aren’t giving it away either. So far this month I’ve made about £250 just selling odds and sods on FB and eBay. I’ve had more time this month, but I do a load in bulk over a morning.

Thanks, I'll check this out. I know what you mean about facebook. Also feels quite personal having all my second hand stuff shown to other people on my news feed etc - although that's a bit silly really, but I do prefer the anonymity of ebay.

  • I also feel a bit wistful about having to pay it all back. I can't help being a bit jealous of the people who are on a self managed DMP and negotiating full and finals. I know that's a weird thing to be jealous of but some of them get fabulous discounts and one thread I'm reading the debt of a similar amount to ours has been nearly wiped out in 2 years!

However, I know many of them never need credit again, whereas once this debt is managed I'd like the option to maybe move to a bigger house someday (let's face it, without the debt we can clearly afford to service a much bigger mortgage!). We've only been homeowners for 3 and a half years, so it feel important to keep credit history looking ok. Also my biggest creditor is actually my mum, and I can imagine just how she'd respond if I offered her a p &f:rotfl:

Yup. Currently our debt servicing is costing £2k a month, which is mind blowing and four times our mortgage. So once it’s gone, we will have mindblowing amounts of free money and will want to move, or possibly buy a holiday home abroad, I think.
I can just imagine offering your Mum half back as a full and final!
Re FB sales pages -the ones I’m on are closed groups so the ads don’t pop up on your feed and your friends don’t see them. Xx

  • So plans for today went quite well. Did the 3 client sessions and did some exercise. Only half an hour zumba dvd but better than nothing!
Also going out to tae kwon do tonight.
My daughter wanted to look through my clothes to see if there was anything for her to dress up in so I let her raid my summer wardrobe draw. So many lovely clothes I'd like to wear this summer - most of which have been lying dormant for a while as I have stacked on the weight in the last two years.

It has made me even more resolved to work on health and fitness now, whilst the weather is still dark and cold and miserable so that when the summer stuff comes out I can enjoy it.
I have so much stuff that still has labels on it as I bought it to 'slim' into. I don't know if I even like it now! More to sell I suppose, would be nice to wear these things at least once though, feels a bit like an admission of failure to pass them on having never worn them.:(

  • Logged onto my bank account this morning to see I'd lost £75 in overdraft charges:eek:

One quick phone call later and they are refunding them as a gesture of good will. I could use all the good will I can get right now!!

Did 30 minutes step aerobics this morning. Going to try and aim for one exercise session for every day of February, so 28 session this month.

I am already 3/28 so a good start.

After catching up some school dinner and school trip payments, plus the fact that my professional insurance is due to renew this month the bank account is a little less healthy than ideal. Was toying with the idea of getting my hair done this month, but I think it will need to keep til next pay month - oh well, scraped back into a ponytail is the look all the celebs are wearing these days.........;)

  • Not sure I'm really using this site properly. Even logged in it takes me ages to find my own thread and I don't know how to subscribe to others' and then find them again.

Bit of a lazy day planned today (am working a night shift from home tonight and Sat nights can be quite busy so prob won't get much sleep).

Goals: List shoes on fb page recommended and joined
    Exercised dvd
complete and submit worksheeet for job last month (in order to get paid for it!)
watch one hour CPD presentation and print off certificate for it
Avoid all shopping type activities. Shopping is not a hobby!!!

I found myself thinking - "I haven't been to the charity shops in a while. I could pop in, maybe there'll be some stuff for the kids. I wouldn't want to miss out....."

STOP! We don't need anything! We are currently all adequately clothed and have books and games a plenty. I'm a nightmare.......

If you click to subscribe to others threads and yours, then when you log in go to the green button that says profile at the top on the right and when you click on it it brings up a page that shows you any unread posts since you last logged in.

  • I Haven't got a green profile button on the right :(

I have an orange one on the left but I have to go through to profile and then settings and then subscribed lists. This makes me sad.

I shall overcome this however -

  • So cpd done
    Time sheet done
Exercise done (50 mins salsa dvd)

Bit frustrated, I experience pain and stiffness in my right knee when I exercise now, but I know there's no point in going to a doc or physio as they would just recommend I lose the 2 or so extra stone I'm carrying around and then see how it is, so that's one of main motivations for losing weight.
That and the fact I'll be able to go shopping in my wardrobe!
