  • I am currently in a dispute with Utilita as a previous Eversmart customer. They have changed the meter readings on my bills so I am being charged twice for usage. I have seen a large number of people making similar complaints that Utilita are trying to strong them into paying extortionate bills. This must be illegal. I've already registered a complaint with the energy ombudsman but I am considering contacting Watch Dog. Unless you have your wits about you they must be putting people under considerable financial pressure and stress! It's just not on, I can't believe Ofgem have allowed this. I may even write to my local MP!

    Welcome to the forum.
    If it's an opening or closing reading, it may be the mysterious third party that takes it upon itself to disregard your meter readings, even if from smart meters or with photographic evidence, and guesses what it thinks the figure should have been.  If one company takes your reading and the other uses this 'corrected' reading this can lead to double billing, as has been reported on this forum.
