  • Hello everyone,
I have to say how much I blooming love this thread!! I read it a couple of times a day and it is helping keep me focussed on making serious inroads into my debt in 2018!!

So far this January I have:-
    * done weekly meal plans and stuck to them
    * completed my Inventory of all my stashed stocks!!
    * updating my money tracking journal every day
    * rounding down my bank account to pay off a store-card - so far £2.31 but it all helps doesn't it!
    * weekly savings plan into a pot and left at work
    * daily penny savings plan into a pot and left at work
    * rounded down the cash in my purse to the nearest £ and popped into a pot and left at work (Xmas
    food fund)
    * wrote to my credit card companies and asked them if they'll reduce my interest rate applicable on my
accounts - 2 have agreed to do so - awaiting a reply from the final one
    * prepped my car for winter
    * kept the thermostat at 17 degrees and added layers to stay warm
    * had 8 NSD's - which is 25% of the whole month!! Very happy with this is a spend on food when I am
stressed so breaking this pattern of behaviour is HUGE!!
    * reduced the interest rate on my mortgage which has saved me £255 per month - plan to use towards
o/s debts and then pay down my mortgage
    * sold unwanted stuff on eBay
    * checked out the free books on my Kindle rather than buying new ones
    * every day I have given real thanks for everything that I currently have!!
    * joined Swabgbux - hoping to save some pennies for Xmas pressies via Am4zon - am very
inexperienced in this area so any top tips from anyone will be gratefully received!
    * collected fallen pine cones from a tree in my garden and popped them into paper bags to use as
kindling for when I light a fire
    * washed and hoovered my car (unheard of for me)
    * printed out a few of Jack Monroe's Cooking on a Bootstrap recipes to try during January - the
lasagne was delish and two pieces stored in my freezer (along with red wine ice cubes for future
    recipes)
    * wrote a shopping list and stuck to it each week!!
    * re-energised myself by reading all of the wisdom on these Boards and re-started a lot of the stuff I
used to do back in 2009/2010 when I first had to get debt free following a divorce from a complete
narcissist with a crazy spending habit (that I had to pay back)

Wishing everyone a stunning day, acheiving your MSE Goals x
