moving the wifi router to centre of the house

Hi
Our master socket is on outerwall of a corner room which is right opposite the rooms and areas where we stay most of the time. This leads to poor wifi signal and dropped connections. Our Master socket as side by side ports
We would like to move the wif router to a central room and hopefully get better connection/signal.
Is there anyway we can do it ourselves and what items do we need to buy for the same?
Ideally we would like to avoid paying for an Openreach engineer for the job.
Many thanks

Have you considered a wifi booster/range extender? (Google will find lots at a range of prices)

You 100% don't need to do this (I'm not even sure they'd do it).

The simplest way is just a longer version of the wire from the master socket to your router if you can route it easily.

    Hi
    Thanks for the advice.
Do you mean I get router connected to broadband posrt of the master socket with a cable?
if yes is there a specific cable we need to use for this?

Your router is already connected, you just need either a longer version of the same cable or an extension with the original cable plugged into it.

Several ways. Run an extension from the master socket, either inside or outside the house, or get some power adapters that include a wifi extender. Or perhaps BT whole home might be easier.

Hi I don't know what area you're in but we had a very similar problem.
This was the guy we used who was absolutely superb. You may want to ask him a couple of Q's.
