TVPlayer internet tv. 100 channels for free and 38 premium channels for £5.99p per month after a 14 day free trial. Apps available most notably on Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. As far as I know not available on Google Chromecast. Very useful for TV in a different room where only an internet connection is available or for mobile.

£72 for the year. Depending on your home, of course, it will end up cheaper in the long run to connect that TV to the aerial, and signal amplifier/splitter to get FreeviewHD.

Just rediscovered my thread and saw all the extra replies, thanks all!!

Taken a while to get in and settled, plus sort out the lack of phone line (sockets had been ripped out & Openreach had to track a new cable a few yards underground to the house!).

I transferred the existing 3 sky boxes & package, and had new satellite dish installed (as there wasn't one at the house). My daughter doesn't want to the multiroom so am going to cancel that and save £12 p/m). I have a discount on the TV package which brings it to a few pence under £15 p/m. So I'll have that downstairs and we'll use the two upstairs boxes as freeview mainly.
Broadband is also free currently and so I just pay line rental of £18.99 p/m. So Sky bill monthly should be about £34.

I bought myself a Firestick (with voice remote which I love!) and have amazon prime until August (when it will renew at £39 student rate). At the moment I'm not going to sign up to Netflix but might do later on depending what I watch. Obviously I can have that upstairs or downstairs.
I'm happy with that, I can seem to get the movies I want (and I don't have the chance to watch that often) and reduced my costs p/m as well.

    Thanks all for the advice!

If the two upstairs boxes are Sky boxes then it's Sky's equivalent to Freesat rather than Freeview (which is through an aerial). Obviously you're going to need a satellite feed from the dish which means you need at least a quad output LNB, two outputs will go to the main box so you can watch and record and one feed for each upstairs box as you'll only be able to watch live.

If you don't already have cables installed or a suitable LNB (Sky will probably only fit a dual output one) then you'll have that to contend with. Perhaps a Freeview aerial to the TV's directly would be better.

We've just got Netflix and much to my surprise we've found we are mainly using that and just use Sky to watch sport. I'm not going to renew when the contract is up though as its £80+ a month. The difference was that I realised watching TV programs (eg Walking Dead) and having to wait a week for the next episode just doesn't suit me anymore and seems kind of old fashioned now. I much prefer choosing how and when i want to watch a series or season.
