I purchased a car on the 5th December 2017, within 2 weeks it cut out on me twice, was hesitating and jerking then my black box showed up 3 fault codes.
I contacted the garage who came to collect the car, they had it just over a week then told me there were no fault codes and the car was fine. The symptoms I was describing were apparently normal for the car....The codes however were still showing on my black box.
A week later another code showed up and my insurance company confirmed the garage had not repaired the faults, they had just removed the codes!
So, I emailed to advise I was rejecting the car and requesting a full refund and under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 I was well within my rights to do so.
They said no to a refund and they wanted to have the vehicle back in for a look. As I had already provided this opportunity and was provided false information with regards to the codes, I insisted on a refund. They are still refusing and will only give a repair or replacement.
I have issued a formal letter rejecting the car to back up my email and have also sent an action before court letter (think that's what it's called?!).
Has anyone been through similar that can advise on the process?0 -
