US - Credit Card or Pre-Paid Card?

Hello Members.
First Post.
I am travelling to US later this year with my family, I am saving an amount per month, so will have a sum before I go (May into June).
In regards to payment whilst I'm there (Eating out, attractions, purchases from shops) do people advise I use a Travel Credit Card or should I go for a Pre-Paid Card?
I've seen some pro's & cons for both (Purchase insurance on items etc) but I don't think I'll be buying anything too expensive (at least not planning to...)
What's the general preference?
(Will have cash dollars for tips and stuff)
All advice greatly appreciated.

Halifax Clarity credit card would be a good starting point.0 -
You should have at least one of each, and/or Starling Bank debit card - don't risk being stuck if one is declined or lost etc.
For prepaid I can recommend Loot, zero cost and fees except £1 per ATM withdrawal after the first two free per month:
