Anyone who would pay a 'left the site' PCN has been mugged! We have never lost one like this at POPLA.

Not only that, any UKPC windscreen PCNs are a cinch to win anyway by appealing as keeper on day 26 (not sooner, nono, forget the 14 days crap).

All explained in the NEWBIES thread at the top of this forum sub-board (see my signature for where to click). 2 clicks away, and you have the appeal words ready for day 26. Easy as taking candy from a baby.

Never seen anyone so oddly keen to throw in the very soft towel and PAY such an easy one to appeal as keeper!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Most recent threads don't seem to suggest an appeal is worthwhile because it will get rejected.
Incorrect. Most threads do say that an appeal will get rejected, but they do not say that it is not worthwhile. Appealing is important because
    • It opens the gateway for a POPLA appeal (worthwhile) or an IPC appeal (not worthwhile)
    • It demonstrates that you have engaged with the PPC to settle the case, which is important should it reach court

You need to read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then start your own thread if you need further help.

Use the grey Forum Jump "GO" button in the top or bottom right of this page to find the NEWBIES.

I don't think Richard E C was asking for help, simply giving advice to OP and saying what he was going to do.

It's not about throwing in the towel, like most people who receive a PCN it all seems such a minefield. On reflection the driver will take the instructions given on here and on the newbie thread and make an appeal at or around day 26 and see what transpires. They're slightly concerned because they were merely browsing and didn't keep receipts for any purchases. But they're also considering complaining to the retail outlet.

Don't "consider" complaining. That should be number 1

If successful, it's by far the easiest way to kill this off

am sure that when you go back to complain that you will point out how expensive the item(s) where .... that you are/ where planning on spending ;)

Its important that a complaint is made to the retail park owner, its also highly recommended that you post the complaint on here first

If the driver complains to the retail outlet, do they pass on their details if asked? What if the retail outlet shares them with the PPC?

The driver doesn't complain - the keeper does the complaining!

the driver plays no part in this.
