Is the car on Autotrader? The URL there shows the date the ad was first placed - it's encoded, but very unsubtly.
So - totally random example...

Interesting, it is on Auto trader, the as went live a few days after the tax ended.0 -
There y'go, then.
BTW, it's too expensive. That's why it hasn't sold.

Yes, this one.
Edit. Looks like the ad is gone, They are moving it closer to look over, it was a Mazda 6 diesel estate, SEL nav auto. 19000 miles £13787.66 reg.0 -
Yes, this one
The popularity of Diesel cars has declined which is why it has remained on the forecourt for so long and I think that Mazda 2.2 Diesel's have a reputation for eating their own engines when the dpf regen fails and Diesel fuel ends up in the sump. Check to see if this model is one of them. Looks good though.0 -
Mazda 6 Diesel? Is that the one that mixes diesel with the engine oil?
Just seen that mentioned above. Listing for that car has gone.
But check carefully before buying a Mazda diesel.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Well I went to have a look anyway, Mazda did not have any service history on their computer. The dealer's paperwork showed its first service was done 7000 miles late at a non Mazda garage. Nice car but decided to leave it there.0

It's not necessarily been up for sale for 6 months. It could have been part exchanged, sent off to auction. Gone through the auction a couple of times before it's hit its reserve price. Delivered to the dealer who bought it, spent time being prepped etc etc. It soon eats into the time and 3 months could easily have gone by before the car was last used by a private owner and it going up for sale.0

Also, open the bonnet and look down at the chassis members under the engine. These will almost always be crumpled in a heavy frontal impact, and it's a big job to fix them. As they are relatively hidden, they are often ignored if the body isn't obviously misaligned. Will check panel gaps are even and lines straight, look for paint overspray etc. I have seen wheeler dealers check under the carpet in the boot :-)If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
