eek!! virgin media

phoned to cancel, went with bt fab offer £125 card, m and s £40 free line topcashback etc
virgin then phoned and offered me £23 deal, so i chose to stay with them , so no hassle changing etc.
so i cancelled bt

today they have sent me contract £30 plus a charge of £36 for installation/activation.

unfortunately i did not record phone calls, so pointless to ask them as they always deny any promises made
however,i did save a chat which may help me.

wish i had gone ahead with bt offer, but too late now

any ideas as to where i stand with them
thanks
Nice to save.

just ring them up and say there is a mistake, and could them amend.

Do this within 14 days of the agreement, otherwise you could leave
  • A similar thing happened to me when they didn't honour a retention deal. They had not saved any notes about the conversation and conveniently their phone call recording system was 'down' during that period. I escalated the complaint to a manager and they did end up honouring the deal in the end.

Why are they charging you installation when you're already with Virgin? And what do you mean when you say you have a chat saved- is this a web chat confirming the £23 deal?
  • Tell them you have a full and clear recording having used an app Called Call Recorder pro (just in case they ask what app).

I had the mother of all ding dongs with VM and thank god I did record the call...they even had the cheek to lie to cisas...opps...that cost them £250.

don't trust them, they are just delaying things until the 14 days are up and then you can't do anything about the price for 12 months.

The VM contracts do show the discount.

If the OP has proof of an offer that's less than the price they are paying,VM will lower the monthly rate.

They normally email the contract, but no guarantee it will show everything.

I wouldn't trust them either to be honest. The loyalty discount should be shown on the contract and any manual credits they do are normally in smaller print near the bottom including details of when they run out. I spent about 6 months trying to sort mine out when different billed amounts came through because they put through the wrong discount codes.

They are probably trying to bide time so I would call them up again and make sure at least they are honouring the deal
