MOT Advisory Fiesta

Comments

  • I have an 09 Fiesta which passed the MOT with an advisory for a nearside slightly distorted rim. I queried it and they explained that it was a small dent on the inside rim, probably caused by a pothole and nothing to worry about. I have alloys too, there was no mention at all of needing to replace the rim, and I did ask!
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Thank the nice tester - he just saved you from three points and a fine. Oh, and make a mental note to start checking your tyres more often!

No, only three if both are dealt with at the same time.

did the guys at the tyre depot say anything about the two wheels ?

if they were badly damaged then they would have told you when they were fitting tyres

Thanks Forceten, No nothing was said about the wheels.

Anyway as it stands I have two brand new tyres and a better idea of what to do regarding the advisories. Once we've moved house and I have room in my brain to think of the car again and I have a bit more money in my purse I'll organise for the garage to look at the wheels again and go look into sourcing second hand ones.
There's also a chance I might sell this car and purchase my mother in-law's which is a year newer and around 20 thousand less miles on the clock and a 5 door. So i'll have to decide at that point whether to do the work before I sell or not anyway.

    Many Thanks

No points for me! 2 spanking new tyres which I'll watch like a hawk in future.....
