Which Jessop shop did you go to, bristolboy?
Coz I live in Bristol and I want to try their price match and buy a new digital camera.
Thanks0 -
Hi Zhen it was market Street, but this was with insurance vouchers, so ok otherwise!0

oh really...thanks for ur reply bristolboy0

The insurence wasn't through Tesco was it? cos i have a claim going through at the moment and Jessops have rang to arrange for the vouchers to be sent to me, but i just presumed they would be ordinary gift vouchers?

Jessops also told me that there was a 20 mile radius of the shop rule (this was just after christmas). So I found an e-tailer with their offices within the limit and went back with the details and a multimap print out of the distance. This was the Preston Store and the web shop was UKdigital at Clitheroe if I remember rightly. It got me me a Casio EX-Z50 for £91 less than their advertised price. All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!0

Sasha It was with Axa Insurance, even if they are not insurance vouchers they may just not price match using vouchers, phone and ask what they say...
put your finds here!0 -
Hi - I went to Jessops with a printout of amazon and ebuyers prices for an ixus 50 (around £225). I asked to look at one to make sure it was in stock and then said that I wanted to buy it on a price match, and the little man disappered into the back room, made a phonecall, got a reference number, and said he could do it for £230. I was happy to pay the extra £5 for in-store returnability, and also wanted their 3 year insurance which includes accidental damage for a measly £35. That means that the little darling will be going to many a concert in the next few months. I had to buy a case from ebay though, because I wanted a non-leather one - but I'm chuffed with what I've got. I could post the sellers ebay shop name if anyones interested, but not sure if that's allowed. Ooh and I got 512mb sandisk ultra II from ebuyer for £40ish.
Anyway my point is that Jessops do price match quite happily for non-grey imports (pixmania / 7dayshop). At the time i bought, the jessops price was around £330, but now it's on the website for 254, so you're bound to be able to price match down to at least £230. :T0 -
I took some of the advice on here and went into Jessops (Union Street, Glasgow) on Friday to buy a Canon Ixus 50.
It was online at about £224 (ebuyer & Amazon) i knew i could get it online at that but didn't want to wait for it and so I took printouts and asked them to price match it. (Jessops were advertising instore it at £315, despite their website saying £254.)
The guy instore accepted that I could get it from Amazon the next day, phoned head office and then said they'd do it for £229 with a voucher (worth £6) for digitial processing. I was happy with that and took it.
So cheers for all the advice guys. :T

BTW The camera is fantastic. Its my first digital and I am VERY impressed.0 -
StephenB wrote:Clearly people's luck varies. I went to the Jessops store on Deansgate in Manchester at the end of last summer, armed with a couple of printouts for a camera, and a couple of printouts for a memory card (all online stores).
Practically the first thing I was told was that they wouldn't reduce the price on the memory at all. I've half-forgotten the numbers for the camera , but it was something like: online £195, Jessops £275, Jessops best price £220.
So I bought it online.

But just think of the hassle you'll get IF something goes wrong with the camera!
i'd personally always pay 10% more to buy at a local shop just for that reason alone, and that i've been stung in the past by crappy service from online retailersmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

They do not price match on insurence vouchers (it says so on the voucher or letter IIRC) they have no need to they already have your business as you can't spen those vouchers any where else. But then, if you don't tell them you have insurence vouchers they ring it up and you hand over vouchers what they gonna do?I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
