Hi all,

As some of you may be aware, there used to be some yearly wombling threads on here however, these seem to have been discontinued so why don't we start again?

All you have to do is a post about any successful wombles which could be...

- Found ASDA receipts for the Asda Price Guarantee
- Found Sainsburys/Morrisons/Tesco receipts that you gain the Nectar/More/Club card points off
- Roadkill (Money found in the 'wild')

The idea is to keep a running total to see who the wombling champion of 2018 will be!

Contestants
1) MotoringMore - £10
2) nelie - 48p
3) Ladykernow - 1p
4) tracey29 - Yet to egin
5) Needananswer - £42.74
6) Adventureofmemories - Yet to Begin
7) NBLondon - £1.28
8) Katiehound - 5p
9) vickthestick - Yet to Begin
10) bugslet - 4p
11) Fingerbobs - £2.32
12) never too old - £10.68
13) ma-ri-ella - £2.15
Clubcard Points are 1p per point no matter if used in a boost promotion
A McDonalds coffee bean is worth 22p

Last Updated 01/03 at 10:55 - If you have an issue with your number allocation please inform me ASAP. Also, to make my life easier, if you could place your running total in your signature, it'd be much appreciated! Also, if I have missed a post or if I've allocated values wrong, please inform me - good luck all!

  • I'll give it a go though can't promise much
but be interesting to see how much i get from these.

Do you just collect the receipts that are left on the self-service checkouts for an example?

I'm going to give this a go this year! My OH gets so annoyed when I pick up other recipts - but I'm not letting those boots points get away from me!

I’ll give it a try - sounds fun!

  • AdventureofMemories - You can do that but sometimes the checkout staff will spot you! For any shop, find out when the litter picking hours are - ASDA is a case of doing their Price Guarantee online but that's easy
Nelie - I know what it's like especially when I pick up really wet ones (which can dry in a magazine)
LadyKernow - Don't forget to give that an estimated value and give yourself and entrant number
Tracey29 - It's really fun once you get into it!

Coinstar Machines are my favourite target.... I never use them - not MSE to give someone 8% of your cash - but I find that some of those who do use them don't bother to check for rejects. OK, a lot of the rejects are Euro and I have to save them up to be converted later but a good haul can be 20p or 30p in silver - I think my best was just over a pound worth.

So far this year - 1p picked up at the railway station yesterday.
I need to think of something new here...
  • Need An Answer - That's a brilliant start to the year! Shame it didn't start earlier as I had a £5.50 APG on the last few days of December - good luck this year and allocate a number!

I'm a bit of a spreadsheet geek and have recorded freebies for the past few years.
I have updated my sig and allocated no:5

The wombling is just a small part of what I record,as I also log free items, free film screenings, trials, vouchers and try me frees.

Grand total for last year was £2367.49
Just a little down on the previous year by about £50

Looking forward to this years challenge!
    Good luck everyone.
