I ended up making a payment of £25 into my British Gas account on-line. That effectively converted it into money, as it just went towards my next gas bill.0 -

All this fuss for £25.
Just use the mastercard to pay the first £25 next time you go shopping and spend over £25 in a supermarket and use the money that you would have spent in the supermarket to buy your eBay item.0 -

Vanquis weren't best pleased that I paid my card bill using them (having used said card to purchase them). Blocked me from accessing the online payment page "for security reasons" after I'd done 8 or so.
Complaints department eventually unblocked me, but I put all 20+ through through the automated telephone system. Then got an angry message from them about how I shouldn't have done that :rotfl:
As above they are a massive faff to use though, particuarly for genuine customers! Paying Amazon/Gas/Tax etc above is a good workaround!
Good shout, using the phone payment system!
There used to be more ways to empty them out in a useful manner, but many of them were hammered by people and shut down. Utility payments seem to be the way forward.0 -
I tried to use my vanilla gift card with Amazon and it was declined, I checked with them and they said that they do not accept them.0
