I hear you regarding the weighloss frustrations. Between 2011 & 2013, I managed to lose 6 stones, & my husband (big guy...loves his food & beer) lost 4. We did Rosemary Conley's diets.....well, kind of our version of them. My husband particularly likes her 321 diet where you have 2 strict days a week on 800 cals & eat more the rest of tge week). It's keeping it off that's so bloody difficult. I regained two stone but am now tackling it with renewed diet efforts & more walking. It's hard work & I have decided just losing 1lb a week will still mean I can be back to my all time low weight by Christmas. 1lb a week for a year is over 3 stones & that's a really good health-improving amount.
Anyway, good luck with it!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Afternoon!
Well it's been an eventful weekend with its ups and downs!
Great news, Mrs fatrab's car is sold. Cash currently on route to bank with Mummy fatrab (assuming she doesn't get a taxi to the airport with it!)
Mixed news, Mrs fatrab's toe nail had to be removed this morning, it's been giving her problems for years so a bit painful now but will be better soon, hence Mummy fatrab running errands as I'm back up north!
Bad news, Friday night's takeaway and Sunday's Mother's day meal put me back to 16st this morning!
Good news, Mother's day meal for 3 adults including drinks, £36!
Bad news, fell off the wagon and had a pint on Sunday. 6 weeks alcohol free and it was only 1 pint.
And I'll finish on something positive, 2 NSD's coming up as I did a bit of cooking last night and have meals made for next 2 days!
So, last week's stats:
Eating Out - 62%
Shopping - 35%
Snacking - 3%
No fuel!! And have made an arrangement where I'll use the van at least once a month, so that'll save me £30-£60 per month.
Need to really get the head down now and get this weight shifted. Another 15lbs and I'll be into the 14's, want to hit that target by end of June.
And will be phoning the finance company with an overpayment later today.

One of my goals for the year was to have a £2000 emergency fund, so I've topped that up from the money that came in yesterday
After a great deal of deliberation I'm going to wait until payday on the 26th before paying anything with the remaining money, so that I have maximum funds available for an overpayment.
I am absolutely torn between either paying a lump sum to the car HP (6.9%) or paying off the loan completely (3.1%) and freeing up £167/month. I know the advice is to pay the highest interest debt first but I can't get it out of my head that it'll be better when I need to start looking at re-mortgaging in May/June if I have one less credit agreement on my file.

Personally I would pay off the loan, this not only frees up money each month to add to the budget or save for a lump sum for car payment, but it's one whole debt gone! This to me would be a great motivator0

Your post is very inspiring, I do feel more motivated to save for a mortgage after reading it. Good luck to you and your family. My old materialistic lifestyle left me in debt worth £38,250.

But it becomes a more difficult decision when you're actually in that position yourself!
I should pay it off the finance, I want to pay off the loan, CCard is at 0% for 3 years so there's absolutely no point paying that off.
I've set up the payment to the Finance company in my online banking, I just haven't sent the money - yet!You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!
