My 5 year plan

Had a look at the survey sites and I don't think they're right for me. Mainly as I would need to set up a designated email account. My laptop is company owned and doesn't allow access to these.
The next areas I can save money on are my mobile contracts and my insurances. These aren't up for renewal yet so it's going to be months before I can make an impact on my debts in these areas. I'm already on the best deals for the insurances, just stupidly paying monthly, but the mobile contracts will save me £840/year when they're gone.
Sometimes you really need to give yourself a slap for being so stupid.
I've been through all my spending and outgoings and there's really nowhere else I can save, apart from eating less or making the minimum monthly payment to the credit card instead of the set amount which would mean the balance wouldn't be cleared by the end of the 0% deal, which I don't want to do.
I'm going to go and speak to the guy about the driving work and see what's involved. It's delivering for a shop so I'd be happy to do a few hours on a Saturday/Sunday morning if that's what he's looking for.
I'm full of energy for this and don't want to lose momentum, I just want to feel as if I'm making a difference. I'm too impatient. You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

In other news, January's expenses were paid today so will pop that into the emergency fund for now. Currently sitting at £1170, not bad considering I didn't have one at all in December! You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

Why is it that when you're on a health kick you crave the strangest things?
All day I've had a notion for a bag of chips. I don't even like chips!

Managed to resist temptation but yesterday was the hardest day of the diet so far.
Still no alcohol and no takeaways, I've brought my lunch to work every day and my NSD's are on schedule for the month. My only spend today will be fuel but that's one of the things I'm allowed to spend on as it's for business use and it's reimbursed at the end of the month.
Will find out today when Mrs fatrab's official return to work date is. As she has accrued holidays while on maternity leave it looks like she'll be paid these in March then will start back on 2nd April. I'm not expecting a massive contribution towards the bills when she gets a wage again, but anything extra will be a huge help, even if she takes on the weekly shopping again that'll help me massively.
Another quiet weekend to look forward to. I'll need to give Mrs fatrab's car a proper clean and get it photographed for advertising. I used to do a bit of valeting and still have equipment and products. I find it quite therapeutic but I wouldn't fancy doing it for profit. I've already had an enquiry about her car through one of the owners clubs and the guy seems very keen so hopefully we'll get it sold quite quickly for a fair price. It's in excellent condition and has low mileage so I can't see us struggling to sell it, it's just a bit of an oddball thing (Dodge Nitro) with expensive road tax.
Driving back to Glasgow today, it's been a quick week as I had the day off on Monday and I'm in head office tomorrow so only been up north 2 nights this week.
I will be a happy man the day my mess is sorted out and I can find a job that doesn't involve working away from home. You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!
