Wrong hands = my hands!
I did contemplate a cashback card as I do spend a lot on fuel but at the moment I don't trust myself enough. I'm re-mortgaging this year so no more credit applications until that's complete.
Next up is selling my wife's car. That'll clear the loan and should leave my finances in as good a shape as possible for the mortgage application. You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

Yep that sounds sensible re clearing loan. We use a Santander 123 credit card for fuel and supermarket. 1% on supermarket and 3% on fuel. All large appliances or furniture etc bought on JL partnership as we get Waitrose vouchers as cashback. Both paid off in full each month though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. You spent the afternoon in the pub and resisted a drink!? Someone give this man a medal!
Just goes to show what a bit of willpower and motivation can do
Four soft drinks (£2.80) vs 4 pints (£14) is quite the saving and also saving on calories! CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))
July debt total: £24,630.44 | New debt total: £18,316.34 | Total debt paid: £6,414.10 (26%)

I did find the whole experience a bit strange, as did most of the regulars lol. Told them i was driving later and had to stay sober. Why i felt the need to lie I don't know. You spent the afternoon in the pub and resisted a drink!? Someone give this man a medal!

Sometimes I think its easier to lie than to have to continually explain things to people that they either don't understand or don't want to understand. I hate being hounded about things like that.
I also always get asked if I'm pregnant if I'm not drinking - so frustrating.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Just back from Chiropractor. Ended up being far too early for my appointment so went to a cafe that I used to go to many moons ago for a wee cup of tea. Well, it's not a cafe any more. It's a bloomin posh place and the price list outside said nearly £4 for a cuppa!
Walked down to the Barras and had a tea for 95p.
Even when I was careless with money I would never have paid £4 for a teabag in hot water. I'm flabbergasted that anyone pays those prices. There was even a queue in the place!
Maybe I'm just noticing things now that I wouldn't have in the past. You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

Regarding the queue in the overpriced cafe, I think sometimes people just buy into the 'lifestyle choice' that they think places like these give them. As you say, they're ultimately paying £4 for a teabag in some hot water so they're the mugs really, but when it's put in a snazzy paper cup and they're surrounded by the feeling of 'luxury' it makes them feel better.
Good for you for shunning it and paying 95p. That's more of a likely price although if you think about it, that's still a 95p teabag! I draw the line at ordering a cup of hot water and pulling a tea bag out of my pocket from home right enough...
Hope the chiropractor worked some magic?CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Yes she's very good JoJoC, I used to have terrible back problems and apart from a recurring twinge they're a lot better since I started going to her. I used to have back spasms and sometimes you'd think my spine had a kink in it, i couldn't stand up straight sometimes, but never had them reoccur since my first visit.
£35 once every 6 months or so well spent. Suppose I should really put that in my next SOA!
For 95p I had a tea served to me in a real cup in a warm cafe and I even got a thank you from the nice lady, not moneysaving but definitely good value! Girl at the next table had a baked potato and it looked great but I resisted! You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!
