  • Cheers Beamerguy.

I'm just looking forward to the end of it.

I think I'll skip Wetherspoons and head for Early Doors. A little gem of a micro pub where superb ales can be found for just £3 a pint. Fingers crossed, the ale will taste a little sweeter after this ordeal is over.

going to make mention of that (the one with the altered VRM logs) but I think I'll not bother.
Why not? JW will be aware of it. If the opportunity presents itself use it to attack their credibility and the fact they quite happy to tamper with material evidence.

Have you prepared a costs schedule?
  • Okay, if you think it's worth mentioning I will do so.

    I haven't prepared a costs schedule.

Read the newbies thread and/or search the forum. Plenty of examples. Takes 5 mins to do and could be worth hundreds

You're missing out then on some potential Wonga from the PPC.

The NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 has an example cost schedule (and the cost elements you could claim) drafted by practising solicitor Loadsofchildren123 - go and check it out, and email it (and take paper copies with you) to the court and the other parties, even at this 11th hour. Make it 'juicy'. The worst you can get is a 'No' from the DJ. It won't cost you anything!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong (and I probably will be) but I thought DJs took a dim view on arm chancing costs schedules?

I've spent LOADS of time on this but would struggle to quantify it on a schedule.

Also - I've just read a horror story about Juke Joint (poster on another forum) who had a shocker in Skipton with DJ Wright back in 2016! That's not what I wanted to read...

You're wrong, consider yourself corrected ;)

If they don't agree you're owed the cost they simply won't give you them. Though, they won't appreciate you taking the p*ss.

Ignore Juke Joint - ancient history and before Skipton Court got wise to Excel's court scams
  • Thanks Lamilad.

I'll put together a plausible costs schedule and let the Judge decide...

Many thanks for your advice and wisdom. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes.

    Ordinary costs for
    1. loss of a day's pay/leave, max £95 - take you payslip. If their rep, or the judge says 'you could have just taken a half day' say you had no idea how long this would take and had to book the day off.

    2. Petrol costs to and from court @ 45p per mile. Or bus/ train fare.

    3. Parking near the court

Extraordinary costs for the claimant's unreasonable behaviour. This is always a tough one.

How much time have you spent working on this case? Time spent researching the relevant law, court process, writing documents, reading their documents...

However many hours that is @£19 per hour, litigant in person rate as set by the CPRs.

It'll be all over by 2:30, I reckon. I'll log in at 3pm to read your report.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx.
