I want to watch a particular channel (TLC) but it's not included in our tv package. I know that I can watch it on my laptop but it does prompt me to input my tv provider.
Does that mean we will get an extra bill for watching it?

I don't read the site as saying it is free to watch or even available via computer, unless it is part of your subscribed to package. It's saying that it is free via certain tv providers.
You can watch Sky free of charge on a laptop if you use Sky Go or 'illegally' use another person's account, but you can only watch as much as the account holder is entitled to. (eg If they don't pay for Cinema, then you can't access it via that account.)0 -

It's not available free (live or catch up) in the UK, all of those TV suppliers are USA based (I think).
It is available via TVPlayer.com with a £5.99 a month fee although it's not a service I've ever tried myself.0 -
thanks, we are with Virgin and when they put the price up this last time, we downgraded our package to offset the price. Never checked first which channels we would lose, my faultTreat other's how you like to be treated.

It looks like you need the Full House package (or VIP) to get the Discovery channels now. In fact there's a hundred extra channels including many HD versions only available on Full House and up.
The Mix package looks more like Freeview than anything and very poor value. I think Sky's move to the one Entertainment package looks like a (Virgin) killer idea.

The idea was to reduce our payment, not increase itTreat other's how you like to be treated.
