Maman I agree with your sentiments about the couple.

Sugar sorry to hear about your diagnosis - I must have missed it in your previous post.

    Hello Ladies,

I was absolutely bowled over by all the elements of the Royal Wedding. :j :D

Harry and Meghan looked so very happy to be getting married to each other. :D

I recorded the wedding thinking that I would not want to watch the whole extended ceremony, but I was both awestruck and mesmerised by every minute of the coverage. :j

Chanie, I would have loved to have been at the street party you attended and I got goosebumps listening to the choir that sang Stand By Me. I had to rewind and listen to it again. Tell your relative that they should be proud of making such a valuable contribution to the royal wedding. That whole choir had amazing vocal talents led by a fantastic female choir mistress. :D :T

    Hello Ladies,

Thank you for your good wishes, it is much easier to finally get a diagnosis that seems to fit all of the symptoms that I have been suffering in the last year. It makes the pains more bearable when it looks as if I may be able to get some relief from medication, as long as they can find one that works well with my existing medication. I cannot have steroids as they will have a negative effective on my existing medication.

Saturday was a washing and drying day for me. I also needed to have a day of rest to conserve my energy for Sunday.

Sunday I went to see Divalution at The Other Palace Theatre then went straight from there to Karaoke. I had a free ticket for the show. :T

Divalution are a trio of 3 female singers who are excellent vocalists. I had a great time at their show, singing and dancing along in my seat. I got to my feet along with the audience whenever they asked us to. :j:D They also had Marisha Wallace as a guest singer and she completely blew the whole audience away with her amazing vocals. When I saw Dreamgirls, Marisha was playing Effie, so I knew what to expect, but she exceeded all of my expectations. :T:D:j

Wayne is willing to be friends with me as the letter has done the trick for now. :)

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Hope you are all well. It's been lovely weather here for the last few days although it's a bit dull this morning.

I am viewing a bungalow this morning. Don't know why I'm bothering really but I guess it's like the old finding the right man thing,....you have to kiss a few frogs first. I viewed a house on Monday, it was awful, unfinished projects, bodged diy and absolutely filthy, and of course they wanted top dollar for it. I have a nasty feeling that today's offering will be just as bad.

And to top it all my buyers are starting to make silly, unreasonable requests. Hey ho.....I guess its just part of the joys of moving house, but tbh I am starting to find my stress levels are beginning to soar. Not good. I am Sick of trawling through Rightmove.

Anyway I've made a decision, if I can't find anything suitable within the next week or so then I shall rent for a while. I refuse to panic buy and make a costly mistake that I later bitterly regret.

At least I have a bit of good news. My broker has come up with a good mortgage deal for me. I have decided to take a small mortgage so as not to deplete all my capital and life savings.

Feeling very tired and stiff these days. I think it's just stress so I need to try and do some yoga today to help me relax.

Oh dear, this is all about woe is me isn't it. Sorry. :oThanks for "listening".

Hope you are all happy and keeping up the fabbing.
  • Sugar baby - thanks for sharing your poem about Wayne. It is very powerful.

I too enjoyed the royal wedding. I was surprised that both my children aged 23 and 26 also watched it where they live. As a family, none of us are royalists but there seems to be something about this couple which is special. Meghan is certainly one to watch for fabbing inspiration both on a superficial and deeper level, I think.

Sorry to hear that LL. I believe that moving home is well known as one of the most stressful of life events. While I have no plans to move there's quite a lot we should do here but we just seem to keep putting it off.:o Maybe when we're on holiday DH and I can have a few conversations about goals for the coming year. Unfortunately it's too easy to plan more holidays and just push building work to the back burner.:rotfl:

It's just under 3 weeks until our sunshine holiday in Turkey.:D It may sound boring to some but we like to go back to the same lovely resort, meet up with old friends, swim/read/eat/drink and generally relax. We're fortunate that we are able to take other holidays to other places during the year.

If I had to, I could be packed and gone in a couple of hours but there are a few bits I'd like if I see something I really fancy. Top of the list is loose dresses that I can wear in the evening. By loose I mean forgiving enough for me to have a good meal and not feel uncomfortable!:D

I picked this up in Bon Marche when I was out on Monday. I've only even bought a pair of gloves there previously but I was attracted by some maxi dresses on display. It won't break the bank at £20 but I'm really not sure. I think it's just on the edge between being a basic and being frumpy. On the positive side it's a viscose fabric that won't crease and has a man made absorbent feel and it doesn't have a defined waist. Opinions welcome!:)

Otherwise I'm keeping up with my fabbing routine. Today I'm experimenting with the Aldi day cream and so far no streaming eyes. I'm trying to eke out my Benefit moisturiser so that I can get some VAT free at the airport.

Hope everyone else is having a good day. It's still bright and sunny here. I think the rain comes tomorrow!;)

Maman I think I'd prefer that dress in a different print, a plain colour or maybe in a really soft denim? As it is its not something I would buy :o

I've been slacking while lovely DH has been based at home, I must get back to my fabbing now he's travelling with work again! Its things like epilating & fake tanning my legs that need to be done, along with my toenails so I can wear sandals :)

Ha ha....Bon March's is a funny Old shop isn't it....garish colours hideous frumpy stuff and just occasionally a little gem, so always worth a look. I like that dress, perfect for hot sunny weather. Casual enough for daytime and just dressy enough for evening.

No going to the same place, meeting up with friends etc is not boring at all. My husband and I loved our apartment in Spain for that very reason....as you say you can still explore different places on other holidays.

Well talk about turn up for the books. I nearly didn't bother going to view the bungalow. So glad I did, it's perfect!!!

Yes it needs work, it's cluttered and if I'm honest rather dirty but I don't care. It is so pretty. There's a very sad story behind the neglect, it's an older lady who just can't cope any more. Her husband (a doctor) has Alzheimer's and is now in a nursing home. The poor lady is run ragged, has money worries and simply has to sell. Does any of this sound familiar- this is exactly the position I was in but at least I had my sons to help. She is much older and has no one.

Anyway underneath all the mess and clutter there is a very sweet (not so little bungalow), with good quality fixtures and fittings, lovely fireplaces and floors.

I just have to speak to my broker in a bit and then, if all goes well, I can make an offer. I really want it so I'm not going to mess about, I'll give her her full asking price and just hope no one outbids me.

Ladies, please cross your fingers for me. Once it's mine, I'll post photos. ;)
