When I bought a car last year I took out 2 days temporary insurance on it. I then taxed it about 5 minutes later. I would be amazed to find out that MID was updated that quickly.0

When I bought my current car a month ago I taxed it two days before collecting and insuring it.
If DVLA did indeed check MID, then presumably the car would have been shown as insured under the dealer's trade policy.
Any such check (whether online or by examining the cover note)
is rather pointless, as it only verifies the car is insured for one day out of 365.0
