Mooloo, it's easy to see why that woman is a millionaire! She obviously depends on people like you being too embarrassed to ask for the money up front and just hoping she'll pay later! What a way to treat someone who's providing a service :mad:

Well today was a different day. I had a visitor who is a local Artist who has had his pictures turned into fabric, and he wants some sample clothes made out of it. Two snags, costs and time scale.
I am interested in the ideas but I don't see how I can do it in his time scale, and at a lower hourly rate.
However I might be able to do some work at home a bit cheaper than in the shop, but I have to consider my work load already. Problem is that it's a task I would love to do!
Meanwhile I have to keep my momentum going on the Shop work and serve in the shop as well as Sew, as I am having to do the job Biggest had been doing as well as my own. Planning is fine but I never know who is walking in the front door to be served.

Mooloo, you don't have to make all the compromises, he has unreasonable timescale and budget expectations for the project, he needs to up his budget and/or change his timescale expectations to suit when you can do it if you are happy to compromise and accept his budget.
He approached you, go 50:50 in compromise or 80:20 at most but do not go the whole 100% with the other person going 0.

Mooloo - have you seen some of the trash into cash programmes? When junk is taken to a craftsman to turn into something special? And the labour charges involved? It's not unusual for a crafsman to charge £700 for upholstering a chair! Remember you are a craftswoman and charge accordingly! The artist came to you - and you should charge what YOU think should be the hourly rate and the hours involved!

Emotional roller coaster! That's me.
Last night before going to bed I accidentally video called my BF via WhatsApp rather than sending the usual text message as we have done for 14 years. ( many times it has been tried to call etc but always failed). Last night was no exception! He didn't know what to say, was abrupt and hung up after a brief what's wrong?
I feel empty and I didn't sleep well.
I woke this morning feeling that I have nothing left to give,
So of course now I am telling him that via text message! Not good start to the day!

I am empty and exhausted.
Disillusioned.

Mooloo the artist was hoping you would be so flattered at being asked to do it that you would do the work for next to nothing. You need to do some work on self worth and self love because you are worth it!

I'm sorry about you Bfs reaction. I know how that dawning realisation feels.
It's impossible to go back to before you knew just how things stand.

It would appear that you serve a purpose for him , when it suits him and he must scratch an itch for you but you need more, ie emotional support and love.
I think maybe , understandably, you crave adult company and to be made to feel like a woman, not just a Granny, Mother, troubleshooter but is it really working with him?

The truth is I don't feel anything is working right now.
I am scared to make any decisions in case I am making the wrong ones.
In irony, I have received some fairly long texts back before work.
One thing that stands out was this one
"I know your dreams would probably mean the end of us, so why would I want to talk about them?"
Says a lot that sentence
