Sending hugs Beanie
Come back whenever you feel able to.
Had a sneaky look at my own scales this morning. I was kinda hoping I might get my stone award tomorrow night, but that's not going to happen. Looks like it's going to be a decent loss though and I should definitely get my shiney next weekBack on the slimming world wagon 04.01.18

Ruby~~I dident think you had exams in your Masters.
Unfortunately some of them do - I've got two this term and then next term I only have 1 (managed to pick a module that's only coursework!) Hope you're feeling better soon beanie *hugs*greentiger wrote: »I hope your exam goes/went well, ruby; it sounds like you have prepared as well as you possibly can.
Thanks greentiger, could have been better but also could have been a lot worse. At least I managed to finish the exam unlike some people!Sunshinemummy wrote: »Eskimo, what masters are you doing?
Health Informatics - not very interesting to most people but it's essentially what I do as my job already with some added technical skills. That doesn't mean it's easy though (have no idea what I'm doing for the exam on Monday and can't seem to motivate myself to actually look at my notes! Watching one more episode of Friend's on netflix and then I'm knuckling down to work.
Food today looks like this:
B - Beans on toast (HEB) with onions and mushrooms
L - Green Veggie Soup (spinach, kale, lentils, celery), 2 boiled eggs
D - Jacket potato with beans (need to finish the tin up), 40g lighter cheddar (HEA), side salad
S - Christmas truffle (5 syns)

Well done on your loss candy:T. Good to make a start. Your menu looks good today. Did you stick to plan all week?
I caught up with that diet programme from the other night with the woman doing 5:2. I have to admit that I was so cross that they'd chosen an airhead that couldn't work out 2 x 92 without using a calculator to add (???) it up that it was hard to focus:mad:. I agree they did a good explanation of why juicing/smoothies aren't as good for you as whole fruit/veg. They also talked a lot about taking on healthy, sustainable eating habits long term which is why crash diets are so easily reversible.
I have friends who have very successfully lost weight with 5:2. It is sustainable (effectively it's an easily quantifiable way of cutting calories) but I think the secret is to choose days when you're really busy for the fasting. It must be very hard if you've too much time on your hands to just keep thinking about food.
New week starts for me today so 105 syns back in the bank.:) At last I managed to buy a notebook for my food diary yesterday. I have been keeping a record since the start of the year but it's good to have a dedicated book.
DH was going to do porage today (high syn as he always makes too much:() but I didn't want to start the week using syns so I had Weetabix instead. The good thing about that is it doesn't need weighing and you get a 'normal' portion.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Weetabix, HEA milk
L: JP with cottage cheese, ham, spring onions, beetrootSW spaghetti Bolognese
Syns: Parmesan?
Any sign of topbaby yet topgirl?:A0 -
Morning all
Had ham, eggs and chips for dinner yesterday with toms and mush on the side. Was delicious. So today, I need to use the chicken. I do need to be careful with my food choices, as I have pretty much run out of vegetables and eggs. Food delivery tomorrow. So today looks like this:
B - Porridge made with 150ml SS milk (HEX A &
L - Something with the chicken (am thinking pan fried with onions and fresh tomatoes with pasta)
D - Bolognese with fresh pasta. I have onions, mushrooms, leek and a couple of carrots I can add to it as well as passata
S - Fruit
Bleh, that's more pasta than I'd like so I might skip the pasta at lunch and make a salad with the chicken. It must be very hard if you've too much time on your hands to just keep thinking about food.
I tried the 5:2 and this is the very reason I had to abandon it. I was thinking about food ALL THE TIME and it was exhausting. When I was fasting I was obsessed with what I would eat when I wasn't fasting and when I wasn't I was dreading the next fast.
Ultimately, I am greedy and I love food so SW works well for me.0 -
Can anyone help me with some M&S Count on Us values please? I don't usually shop in M&S but I picked some stuff up today because I thought they'd be good choices to have in fridge and can't find the values on line (I don't have access to SW resources)
I got
Count on us Pulled ham in parsley sauce
Count on us cottage pie
0% Greek yogurt rhubarb
0% Greek yogurt mango
Count on us chocolate mousse0 -
Can anyone help me with some M&S Count on Us values please? I don't usually shop in M&S but I picked some stuff up today because I thought they'd be good choices to have in fridge and can't find the values on line (I don't have access to SW resources)
I got
Count on us Pulled ham in parsley sauce 7
Count on us cottage pie 7.5
0% Greek yogurt rhubarb FREE
0% Greek yogurt mango FREE
Count on us chocolate mousse
The Mousse depends on the pack size. There's a single one for 6.5 or a 4 pot pack for 4.5 each.
If they're tasty (and M&S generally are) then they'll be worth the syns. tell us how you get on.
