poorbutrich, Well Done - may be random but a very good start. If you see something that you no longer want, it is very rewarding to make a decision immediately & dispose of the item appropriately. When I do that I jot it down then post at the end of the day - it is surprising how quickly the number goes up:)

One item up for auction ending tomorrow, and a few things to freegle out of the door.
Getting there slowly. But it was my birthday on Friday, so I'm not going to beat myself up on my birthday weekend! Thursday is a fairly free day, so hopefully get lots of stuff sorted then.
414 one broken bread machine taken to the tip.

Edwink
Thank you Edwink, really appreciate your kind words and all the motivation and encouragement on this thread, and you've made a good start too! Well done!
I oughtn't to be too despondent - my DDs room is looking nice and minimalist at the moment (and she is steadfastly refusing to allow me to move any stuff back into it), and we have straightened the bathroom out, so there is definitely progress, just that there's still not any public space (kitchen, living room hallway) fit to be seen. I'm my own worst enemy too - suddenly decided to make marmalade this year (haven't bothered for ages, so why now?), so the jamjars which normally are handed over to a neighbour are now piling up on the kitchen worktop
- I'll get this done at the weekend.
Just realised that I probably get (almost) to this point every year - have a flurry of sorting out /throwing out after the Xmas stuff is cleared away, and then look around in February, feel discouraged that it hasn't made a difference, slow down, get sidetracked by other things in life generally..... and by the next January it's even worse. I think someone mentioned on last year's thread that we didn't get cluttered up in a month, it may have taken years, so it will take time to reverse the process. Writing it all down does help to convince us that we're making progress.
On into February - Good luck to everyone :T:j0 -
