Apple TV will also do this exact thing.0

looks like Video & TV Cast app can also send Camera Roll videos to the streaming stick. Their website also claimed direct casting to LG, Samsung and other smart TVs, no stick needed. Worth hunting for the TV Cast (or similar) apps on your TVs App Store then.0

I'm not very smart because I cannot figure it out,:D
Use the AirPlay function on your Apple device to stream to you TV.
Both your Smart TV and iPhone should be connected to the same WiFi network.

That YouTube video guide link first goes over the easy options like casting from the phones YouTube app to YouTube on the TV. At the very end he mentions AirPlay, saying that if you want to avoid using an expensive Apple TV box, well it can be done by using a PC as a 'bridge'. Then he goes into no more detail and the video ends.0
