We are mid term an 18mth contract for tv, calls and b.band. We would like to upgrade to infinity , is there to do this at no extra cost or get some cashback. were happy with bt but find ourselves wanting a faster speed.
BTW, weve not had notification of a price increase which i thought was one way out and we could go from there. ( im a line rental in advance person )

Price increase get out has not long to go .
Phone the number on your BT price increase email and negotiate .Price up from other ISPs for comparison.0 -
Call and ask.
You won’t get cashback when staying with the same supplier though.0 -

Have you checked what the problem is?
Have you run speedtest.net on a wired PC connected to router on master switch, then compared to a wireless laptop connected to normal port?
Have you checked with neighbours if any are on BT and what speed they get, if the green box has poor connection you may not get a huge improvement.
Before throwing money at it I would check the points of failure.
A friend of mine had a lousy connection with Plusnet, turned out that the wifi card in his laptop was the issue, he was getting under 2mb on that card and 16mb on wired ethernet, got him a new card off eBay and problem was sorted.
You may have a device on network that is swamping the line, family member downloading or phones backing up etc
Figure out your baseline then investigate the cause, people have upgraded to fiber only to get poor performance.0
