Ah yeah, might as well try for that. I thought you said you'd already emailed a couple of agencies. But, as I said before, you really need to visit them in person.
It does seem like you're procrastinating though. You might as well bite the bullet now, because the sooner you do, the better for your finances.0 -
Sounds like a bit of prevarication going on AC!
Excuse me for being a bit bossy here but you do need to get on with your universal credit claim. You have had some excellent advice on your disability thread about what to claim so now you can set the wheels in motion.
When I volunteered for job club we made sure people sorted out their claims and knew how to access foodbank and other help first before we could settle down to proper job searching as hungry, worried people don't make the best students of the art of job searching.
You seem a bit reluctant to claim from the job centre, but you have paid into the system for years and their job is to support you. Please don't be put off by any scare stories about job centre staff, as everywhere you will get good and less good employees and our job club clients found a mix who were doing a difficult job with new and changing systems themselves. Work with them and they will help you.
Right bossy bit nearly over....
Initial claim for universal credit will take a little bit of time and a clear head to answer the questions online. Suggest you start fresh tomorrow morning then promise yourself a (little) reward after. Hour of thrash metal to upset the neighbours? Perhaps not...
Bossy bit ends.
Well done in your journey so far, just a little final push0 -
Thank you moo and gigervamp , for giving me another push
Now, what's going on ?
I have spent all day today emptying those crates in the bedroom .
Still therapeutic I hasten to add, and not really annoying . It's very easy to put these kind of chores into the background like my reluctance to look for income and get back on the radar .
On that score, the music room is fairly cluttered again ( probably temporarily) , but the main bedroom is the best it has been since I moved in. No bodies were found in the crates .
I now have as mentioned , the stuff that needs to be scanned .
I will be doing this shortly , and that job should be out of the way then .
On Tuesday , I will give Poole job centre a call ..and that's the start .
Tomorrow , mr trainer . Then I have to tackle kitchen .
Today , I took the step of listing one of my basses on a bass guitar forum . It is one that has been hanging on the wall of my bedroom , and is just gathering dust . It is a hollow body ,so has a large gig bag that could almost fit me in there . I could put the mirror from the hallway in its place ,which would be a better option .
I also listed a cheap bass combo , which lovely as it is ,is taking up space . I may list my most expensive , but will mull that over .
Procrastination is finished, and I am determined to get things done .
Regarding the boiler people are reactive , I don't know whether to leave negative feedback on trustpilot or talk to someone on the keypads " if you are thinking of leaving us.." opinions are welcome ..
Thrash metal is a great idea moo0 -
Well done on having a plan AC. It's also nice to see the bossiness comes across so affectionately from others too. People wanting the best for you.
I'm the same with moving things around and having stuff to unbox after getting ready to move and not going. It's such a chore, but I'm in a minimalist frame of mind so need to get rid of most things to more loving homes.
Have a great "lack of procrastination" week. Hopefully I'll be joining you in the same mindset.0 -
Thank you MT
it's always good to listen ,to all the great advice given .

Okay , saw mr Trainer..tick chucked a lot of stuff for recycling ..tick
woke up after a good nights sleep .. tick . Scanned all my medical life story and emailed to mr trainer and saved ..tick Spoke to CAB..tick ..applied for universal credit online ...tick !!! Pita !!!!I have an interview in Bournemouth late afternoon tomorrow . I had to create a gvt identity Acct . I used the post office and not Barclays . As the post office doesn't recognise certain bank accounts I had to go on live chat . That's after using the post office app to scan my passport and answering multiple questions about my existence . I then had to be held in a very large phone que to book tomorrow's appointment
As I am typing this , I have another message to check my account i now have with universal credit .
After tomorrow I've done the hard part of my life transformation .
I knew it had to be done . I did say the end of jan at the very latest , would be the end of my comfort zone .
I hate the saying but ,"let's do this " ...0 -
Wow AC, you've been busy! That sounds like great progress ... you forgot one item though - 1. Write a list (tick). It's something I do every time I write a monster-size list full of tasks I don't particularly want to do0

Hi Georgina
Will catchup on your diary again soon . Yes , it's been like doing a full days work . The universal credit thing , not the rest
As I was the update here , I got a message to go into the u c website
The interview has been cancelled . Messed around already . Still it's expected . One of the reasons why I never wanted things to get this far .
Anyway , ontop of that I decided to send james a text about the two lukewarm rads . He will be available next weds onwards . All good.
Then..reactive called about the problem . I could've been reactive myself , but I'm not the type unless really rattledI was polite as usual. One of their engineers will contact me and look into it further by a visit . If the price is reasonable , then they can do it . If not , then james can change the rads . Maybe reactive will go halfway as a goodwill jesture??:rotfl:

Hello AC,
Wow - you've really put me to shame with the amount you've done. All well within the target time too! Doesn't it bring you down when you feel messed around with appointment changes, but hopefully you'll get to see them without too much fuss on their part.
I need a rest just reading your update!0 -
I echo MT. You re doing so well AC. It is hard getting messed about but keep going so you get what you needIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
