NSD for me today, made a Mediterranean chicken casserole using up bits I already had in. Made a nice change from the usual meals and my youngest son loved it.
Need to plan my meals for the next week, as Thursday is my usual shopping day. I've got loads of parsnips, brussels and a red cabbage that need using up. I've also got half a cauliflower, thinking a sw cauliflower cheese for that.Grocery Challenge 2020

Hello everyone!
First shop of the New Year today and spent £89.21. Got lots of meat, washing products and cat food, which should last a while.
I've planned this week's meals - just got to actually do the prep and cook now!0 -
PennyGrabber wrote: »Easily managed a nsd today, as I'm home ill! I'm paying for tonight's fish and chips, as it's oh's 40th today, but that comes from my pocket money rather than the GC. Will 'only' amount to about £15, but that's far better than a meal out at a restaurant!!
Glad I don't have to cook tonight, as can barely stand...

I hope you can rally PennyGrabber. The chips are counting on you to be eaten.
Two spends today for me: €6.86 on two cheeses to take to a dinner party and €12.15 on fruit for the same reason as well. OH bought a bottle of red wine for the dinner but I'm not counting that as the household/budget. It was all received well by our hosts and the other dinner guests. My two purchases come to €19.01.
TOTALS SO FAR:
€45.04 / €250.00

I need to get a few toiletries tomorrow but I haven't meal planned yet at all. Hrm. I'm kind of torn between eating down what's in the fridge and buying more stuff I would "like" to eat. Meh. I'll hold off for now I think.0 -
