  • I'd like to join in. My month starts on the 1st. I haven't kept receipts but will start today and use my bank statement to back date the 3 missed days. My budget for household groceries and cleaning items this month will be £300. 2 adults + 1 dairy free 2year old. I know this is high but we have 3 birthdays this month and I am hosting a tea party for one of them. Would like to reduce by £20 pm tonsettpe at £200 as ultimate aim x

I spent £21.49 in Sainsbury’s this morning. I have enough food in the house from shopping in December (spent way too much) to last until at least Sunday. We are making our own curry and skipping the take away this Saturday. Used up the soup for our lunches today too even though I didn’t really feel like eating it, I want to reduce the waste.

Making roast dinner tonight, going to use all of the potatoes or they’ll get thrown out, any good ideas what I can do with half of them to make and freeze for another meal.

  • Yesterday was a NSD. Today I spent 36.54 euros, this included a fair amount of household bits and toiletries as well as a rosc!n, ready for the Kings, so all in all pleased with what I spent.

    Now have 229.73 left.

I'm back in for January! So far, £22/£200 spent, should be the main spend for the rest of the week, aiming for only another £10-15 for some fresh things I couldn't get today :)

Easily managed a nsd today, as I'm home ill! I'm paying for tonight's fish and chips, as it's oh's 40th today, but that comes from my pocket money rather than the GC. Will 'only' amount to about £15, but that's far better than a meal out at a restaurant!!

Glad I don't have to cook tonight, as can barely stand...

Happy Birthday to your OH PennyGrabber, my daughter is 40 today too.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • First buy of the year - £37ish on fresh food (as I've nothing at all in the house) and £46ish on a big bulk food delivery which should do me for at least two months. So that takes me to £83.91/£220 - I'm expecting to go way under that as I've just been given a £30 W@itrose voucher, so I'll be using that to stock up the currently empty freezer.
