Morning everyone and thanks for the start Holly.
FBO am so sorry to hear the news about your cousin, my thoughts are with you and your family.
We don't have the snow today but it is pouring with rain, onto already soaked ground so it's laying everywhere. Think it's a day to stay inside and hunker down, I need to change the bed and the towels so the WM will be doing its thing. We did get out yesterday and I was amazed at the reductions in the F&V, picked up carrots for 4p and toms, cauli and pots for 10p, all from W8rose.
That's all my news, not very exciting eh
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning all and thank you for starting the thread Hollyharvey.
Thinking of FBO today. Such a dreadful thing.
It is raining here, persisting down effectively as the ice is melting. The roads have been quite risky for a couple of days, some visible sheet ice but a lot of that nasty black ice.
I am not working today and will do a Friday Tidy as far as I can but not always the easiest job when 'sone people' leave things all over.
My ancient dyson is now near impossible to use, the vax I bought 4 years ago is utter cr*p so am working on my replacement fund. I might see if there us anywhere local that re conditions dyson though, it has all its bits, it us just that they are not necessarily attached to each other.
Last night OH made a chicken and mushroom thing with the last of the chicken (we don't have a turkey) so that's all gone, we had that and DS had a pork chop but more accurately half a pig it was mahoosive. Tonight I'm going to make lasagne and serve it with salad, normality resumes.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly.
FBO, so sorry to hear your news.
Hugs and get well soon wishes to those in need especially Dumpling and Csarina.
We have heavy rain and strong winds here so no engine bay painting for CHS instead he wants to go to B&Q for a fix of tool !!!!!!, deep joy.
Today we are eating up all the leftovers, I have one slice of beef, three of ham and some turkey scraps, I'm warming the whole lot up in gravy and serving with mash potato and cabbage. We will then go back to ordinary meals.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Good Morning everyone and hugs to FBO and dumplings Becky bless her.You certainly have a good chap there dumpling.
Well is absolutely chucking it down at the moment in north Kent and it looks like its set in for the day. This morning I am going to start decluttering my small bedroom that has all my treasures, desktop etc in as its far too full of books, paper, junk etc and I promised my eldest Dd that I would sort it out.Hopefully to find my Kindle which i said she can have as her's has packed up.I still am full of this rotten head cold and just finished my second week of it .nasty bug and it will not go . Youngest DD wants me to go there for NYE and eldest does as well but I may just stay at home and keep the bug to myself.
Our dear frank is on a morphine drip now but he is at least comfortable .he has good days and ones that are not so good and its very worrying for the family, his poor wife is not doing very well bless her .
Such an awful time for so many folk at the moment
T/A as others have said on a scale of things OH's results are goodish although worrying for you both.
Holly/H stay in the warm honey and feet up and have a read ,best medicine I know(spoken as a true bookworm )
Hope everyone has a good day and keeps warm and dry if possible
Take care chums we are all precious to someone

Morning all,
We awoke to snow & it was coming down thick.DH was meant to be looking at a big extension job,but couldnt get the van up the hill. He's rung to explain and is now trying to get the car out ( he can possibly turn that round and go down to the main road, they dont look too bad)He doesnt like letting people down, especially when the last few months have been so quiet for them and they need the work.
FBO I am so sorry to hear about your cousin and have said a little prayer for you both. Many hugs xx
TA glad you had 'ok' news of Mr TA,(and s0d the housework,if you're not well enough yet)
I think I'd better get some warming soup out of the freezer, and probably sausage and mash for tea.We did get some bits yesterday, and some diced beef for NYE when our friends are coming so at least theres no shopping to be done.DGS is meant to be coming at 1 and staying 2 nights as Mummy is going to a wedding (if they can get there )
Right better get a move on xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning everyone.
FBO you are in my thoughts, as are Dumpling and Becky.
TA I'm glad the news was as good as could be and I really hope you feel better soon.
HH I think you should perhaps take it easy for a few days rather than venturing out.
Hope you all have a good day whatever you are up to.
I've just stripped my bed and put the WM on but that is about as exciting as it gets here. I need to venture to the shop at some point but only need a few things.
Take care all x'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Thanks everyone for the support. I’m still reeling but I did sleep after a long hug with my DH. I’m very lucky - I have a huge support network through AA, and I went to a meeting last night shortly after hearing the news. I am going to have drowned in coffee by the end of the weekend.
DH goes onto nights tonight and until Hogmanay so I am going to make sure I don’t isolate which is my most dangerous and default setting. Lots of AA meetings.
TA so glad the news was the best it could be.
Dumpling I’m glad Becky is back in safety. It must be so horrible watching and feeling so helpless. You are all in my prayers.
It’s snowing heavily here. I hope we can actually get the cars out. DH and I have decided we are going for a walk though. We need some fresh air and he’s likely to be hibernating for the next 3 days when he’s not at work.
Have the best day you can everybody. Thank you all again for caring.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Morning all
Its been very windy here in the night and lashing with rain, at one point the wind blew the door to the loft room in the bedroom open and made the bedroom door slam, that was fun in the night !
Sunny here atm but more rain due at 12 ish and set in for the day, we have been out walking most days with little Evie but I think OH can do it today I am not a fan of walking in the rain.
I have ordered a hand held hoover from amazon which should arrive today mainly for the ash on the hearth but I am sure it will come in handy.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and rummage in a while but it might be takeaway and wine
TA so glad the news was as ok as it could have been xx
FBO how shocking for you all, we are all here to talk if you need to, lots of love xx
Have good days all xx0 -
What dreadful news for you FBO, my thoughts are with you. Also with Becky and your family, dumpling.
Lots of poorlies at the moment, I hope you all get well soon - we seem to have escaped it so far although Dil came home from her family's Christmas with a stomach bug.
We've been at home a day - just time to take down the decorations because we're going up to Yorkshire and won't be back till the middle of January.0 -
Morning (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one.
TA glad the news was as good as it could be.
FBO pleased you were able to sleep and that you have a support network behind you.
I am feeling a bit better today, did get up for supper last night and stayed up till 10 pm. Need to do a freezer dive today, not sure if we have fish for tonight. If not it will be beefburgers, chips and beans. If I am up to it I will cook the turkey breast on Sunday.
So glad I bought the dryer, it has done sterling service this week. Have a bit of ironing but it will have to wait.0
