Old house was not cleared as the contractor didn't show up! I have a week to find someone else who can do the job or I'm in trouble. Today's job number 1.
I have started meal planning for next week and will complete the food shop tonight. I can't wean myself off Ocado just yet...
C tax bill for the year ahead paid this morning.
London was a tad more expensive than I had planned it to be as I lost my train ticket so had to buy another! But it was a good day, and now I have no plans for the foreseeable future.
Aims for this week.
Stick to meal plan
Bring in Lunch every day
No extra spending in lunch break
Order blinds for bedroom and rehang door0 -
Mid week check in. Spending has been fairly under control. Not bought any lunches, did get a jumper in the sale today which was £5.00
Trying to stick to meal plan....but for example, I'm just not hungry today, so will probably skip/have a light dinner, main thing is I'm not buying a different meal.
Bring in lunch everyday - success
No extra spending - ooops.
Have not ordered blinds or rehung door, but will get onto that.
I also need to find bookcases for the conservatory so we can turn this in to a functional room, it's getting a radiator installed tomorrow, then need to furnish and the house should be complete!0 -
New month with a refreshed budget. Have agreed our deductions for our deposit and will be putting 50% of this into a mortgage over payment, which along with my usual £200 over payment means nearly £1k over paid this month. Which is great.
Started working on the conservatory yesterday and hope to get a bit more done today, really need the furniture to be able to put all the books away though, so need to negotiate a trip to Ikea sooner rather than later.
Still need to order blinds, but the house is now my main focus as we don't have the other property anymore, phew!0 -
Out in London yesterday. Always fun but it's so expensive, I'm glad to not have any plans now for the foreseeable future. I want to knuckle down with the other aspects of my life that need sorting out. Namely, health and fitness.
So today will see meal and snack prep for the week ahead. I need to pick up some eggs but aside from that I have all I need.
Will be making bolognese, cous cous salad and roasted veg, might also make a soup too.
House work to be done too. Hubs is out for dinner at his mum's so just me to feed later. Bolognese and courgetti.
I also aim to work out 3 times this week. 30 minutes low intensity cardio, depending on time I'll do this today or tomorrow after work. Plus weds and friday. I know I can do it. I used to work out every day. I just need to get into the habit again.
Anticipating a low spend for the rest of the month although do need to factor in MOT due.0 -
Housework did not get done yesterday.... It's not horrendous, and I will give the house a once over tonight. Made the bolognese which did for dinner, and lunch and probably lunch tomorrow too.
Chinese for dinner for hubs tonight, I have left over tuna, so either a salad, or possibly pasta, I've not quite made my mind up yet.
30 mins low intensity cardio to be done tonight, which I will do when I get in. It's cold and rainy so probably something indoors, rather than a run.
Need to meal plan dinners for the rest of the week and do my online shop for Thursday.0 -
Scales showing a 2lb loss for this week. Yay.
We had hoped to sort out the conservatory this weekend but hubs mum had a healthcare so our plans flew out the window.
Didn't buy lunch at all at work last week, aiming for the same this week.
Realised I need to start saving for our trip away at Christmas too so might have to calm down on the mortgage over payments and split that money 50/50
Roast for dinner tonight, will have left overs for lunch. I am very ready for the long weekend I have to say.0 -
No mortgage overpayment this month. Vets bills and other spending means it's been put on pause for a month. This payday is bonus month, so I'll definitely make one on payday.
I've started running again and feel great about it. I'm making small daily changes to improve my health.
I do feel like it's more expensive to eat healthily, but I think that might be down to my online shop choice. I might look to change this in the future, I think I could knock £20 off my bill a week, but at the moment, we spend so much time at home that great food isn't the worst expense. Plus, I often make a different meal for myself and hubs as we have very different tastes.
It might not seem like a big thing but we have cut down on the amount of pub trips we take, we'd normally go once on the weekend, and once in the week, but I'm trying to stay away totally, much easier when you've got a house you totally love!0
