  • Do you purchase a lot of stuff online?????
  • I usually try to shop online where I can, as I prefer to shop around for deals and or find similar products to what I want.
  • Yesterday I had a small spend of £39 for a bathroom storage cabinet.

We have committed to moving in next week, so have a week to finish packing, and getting the house ready. Last night wardrobe was built. This evening the aim is to get the bedroom all boxed up, minus clothes and bits we will need for the week ahead. Tomorrow evening we are due to make the bed, which is the last big item we need to make. I also need to measure up for cooker and washing machine with the intention these will be fitted either this weekend or next Friday when I am off work. I think Friday might actually be a more sensible time.

Today my hope is for an NSD, I have bought in breakfast and lunch for work and we have a food shop arriving tonight. I'm looking to get back into meal prep and planning, and intend to start this this week.

I'm hoping the builders will return before the weekend to remove their stuff and bits of plasterboard etc that they've been keeping in the house. I'll need to do a tip run this weekend and move as much as possible. It's all becoming very real now!

Well all i would say is what i say too anyone trying too clear debts, if you can buy it online or sell it online see if you can get cashback first. I would check just as a thought the last say 5-10 purchases you have made online i bet half too a third are on there.

    https://www.topcashback.co.uk

I will list a few of the retailers i use there are loads, ie ebay, preloved, music magpie, justeat, expedia, holland and barrett, price comparison sites, amazon, moonpig, ticketmaster etc etc

The money can be small but every little helps. I am at 720quid off the site in the last 3 years.

Thanks, I've just signed up - and good call, I going to order a washing machine and cooker via AO this weekend and they've got a cash back offer on which is handy!
  • The main ones that pay the bigger cashback amounts are if your changing suppliers go compare is on the site. I know friends that use the site who have had 50-100 quid for changing broadband or car insurance/gas and electric etc etc.

Post on your journal what you get for the cooker/washing machine i think dixons/currys were on there too.

I didn't end up using cash back for my cooker or washing machine as I got a money off voucher so used that instead. Washing machine arrived yesterday, cooker due Thursday.

We are moved! Nearly. The old house needs emptied and cleaned so will arrange that in the next week or so and just finishing touches and getting hot water to do in the new house. Oh and sorting out my conservatory/library/gym but that is a job for later.

Cooker arrives tomorrow, still no hot water. Vacuum cleaner has died. March is being a bit of a money pit!

I still need to finish emptying and cleaning old house, sort out conservatory in new house, arrange for carpet to be laid in the hall/stairs, put up curtain poles etc etc the list goes on. We will get there in the end! ,The I intend to start saving for kitchen refurb.

Hubs and I also want to overpay the mortgage where we can, which I intend to start doing in a few months time.

We have a cooker hurrah! The last major thing to fix is getting hot water. A job for this weekend.

I made an over payment on the mortgage today, if we manage £200 extra a month we can knock 10 years off our term, so that's our aim.

Still left to do is pay for clearance at the old house, and get it cleaned, plus move some items into storage. I hope to do that all this weekend/coming week so that I don't have the two houses upkeep to worry about for much longer.

Food shop arriving later, currently use Ocado but think it might be wise to get the price down a bit, as much as I prefer them over the others.

Today is all about budgeting. We are nearing the end of the big house spend and I want to knuckle down and save save save.

Old house to be cleared tomorrow and cleaners booked for the following week and we will hand the keys back!

I applied for, and was accepted for a balance transfer card which I used to pay for the washing machine and new vacuum on, so that will ease the burden of paying those off immediately. I will close the card I do the transfer from.

Food shopping in the thing I need to tackle next, I use Ocado because it's easy and convenient and the quality seems better, but, I'm sure if I shopped around I could get better deals elsewhere, so my mission next week is to test somewhere new. I've added up our shopping totals, we spend about £70 a week which isn't bad, but I'm sure we could do better.

I will be switching energy suppliers this weekend too, and the water bill has been paid off a year in full. I am going to save back monthly what this is ahead of next year's bill. Same with council tax I think. We've always paid that in full.

I have one big spend of going to London on Sunday, but it's hopefully a quick trip so train fair and lunch should be all I need.

I have been v. good with lunches, only buying once this week. Next week the aim is 5 out of 5.
