  • I have finally started working out! I did a 25 minute kickboxing cardio workout using the fitness blender channel on you tube. I will do another on Wednesday am.

Low spends today of £5 on lunch which I need to stop, we have plenty of food at home so need to prep and take to work.

I am hopeful that exercise will help my sleep issues. I forgot how fun it is too.

I want to rejoin a gym and have a dilemma. Join the cheap gym near my work or the more expensive (and nicer, has a pool) one that is opposite my house.

Or the real mse way would be lace up my trainers and do it for free at home/outside.
  • Already in the 2nd month of the year!

I have had a positive start to the year.

Alongside being debt free I have just had a session with my new personal trainer which was fantastic and just what I needed to. I signed up with a friend as we both like to compete against each other so this will spur us both on more.

I have enrolled in a college course. Online learning that will see me change my career in the next couple of years. My wages will drop massively to start with so my focus now will be saving as much a possible.

I'm feeling for the most part mighty positive.

Ohhh it's been a while since I updated this, but feel it's time to check in.

I am still debt free (yay!) and we are just in the process of buying our first house! A thing I never thought would be possible 6 years which the debt my ex left me in and my credit file in tatters. Nothing major a little one bed terrace, but it's prefect for us (and quite frankly, due to where we live, all we could comfortably afford)

We are looking to put a new bathroom in the property so I'm hoping to save as much as I can between now and completion so we can get this done before we move in. I have no idea how much to budget for a bathroom, so that's this weekend's research!
  • I'm going to make an effort to update this diary more often. I want to keep myself accountable.

House purchase is slowly coming along. I have started clearing out things we don't need. My aim is to put a lot of clothes on eBay this weekend, see what interest that gets me. Will donate what doesn't sell.

I'm trying again for NSDs and NDDs yesterday I achieved both.

I have meal planned for the week and am working on next week. Online shopping to keep food budget in check. Generally trying to make my home life as organsied as my work one.

I want to focus on building up a nice savings pot and then look at over paying our mortgage when we finally get it.

The more we have saved before the move the better! I am due proceeds of a sale but have no idea when these will arrive. Sale completed some weeks ago but money is not in my account yet.

    Aims for today.
    Stick to diet plan
Small spend of some peppers and onions for dinner.
    NDD
    Clean kitchen
    Bed by 10pm.

    Have a lovely day all!
  • Probably spent a bit too much money this week on lunches etc so need to spend some time today prepping meals. Will use up veg and make veggie fajita bowls I think.

Food shop arrived on Friday and meals for the week are planned, also hope to get ahead on prepping some of those today.

I closed an unused credit card this week and plan to close another. I wish you could do it all online!

I plan to eBay some items this week to start decluttering ahead of the move. Not updates on the purchase yet! But I'm still wishing we can move in before Christmas.
  • So quite a bit has changed since my last update.

We get the keys to our very own bricks and mortar house a week Monday. We will be homeowners!

It will be an expensive month as we are upgrading our furniture and need white goods. But the plan is after that to knuckle down get saving and over pay the mortgage as much as I can.

I have gone back to cooking from scratch which is giving me lots of enjoyment. I have cut down my drinking and generally feeling happy.

I need to knuckle down with my studies but will crack on with that when we move and I have space for a table and don't have to perch my laptop on my lap. My mind needs a work environment to actually do work.

I'm meal planning and food shopping online which is great for budgeting. I just need to create a spreadsheet for income and expenditure to keep on top of things.
  • We own a house!!!:j:j:j

The focus of this diary is going to shift somewhat. The only debt we have is our mortgage, and whilst it will be my intention to repay this as soon as I can, I would also like to recoup some of the savings I have spent on the house, as this has not been cheap!

So, I need to stop going out, reign in the needless spending, meal plan, and take lunch to work. All things I know I can do and all things I have done successfully before.

This week is a muddle of evenings at new and old homes and getting ready for the big move, so I hope to restart my frugal lifestyle next week.
  • Congratulations on your new home!
  • You need to find a comprimise where you will be happy regarding training, i have trained at budget gyms like exercise4less and puregym and i will be honest i hated them. They were either full of idiots or overcrowded or in one gym i trained at full of theives lol. I trained at a council pool that was quite cheap and i had water bottles and towels knicked gerrrrrrrrrrrr who nicks a 2quid tesco water bottle and towel lol.
  • I know what you mean! I used to go to puregym too and when I was going at 6am it was fine but my hours at work changed and that's not possible any more. Im going to look into my options.

This evening was spent building furniture at the new house. We are so nearly ready to move. I have £189 worth of Tesco boost vouchers so plan to use these to get new pots and pans from denby. I bought bed linen today, I'm never going to John Lewis again. Too expensive, even in the sale!
