Hi
I am searching for a good website that will allow me not only to look at share/fund prices but also so i can import the prices into excel automatically.
I think google finance and yahoo finance used to allow you to do this but they have now stopped you from importing data into excel.
Any free suggestions would be great to know about!
thanks

Set up a free acccount in markets.ft.com. Create a portfolio. You can then export it with the prices of the individual investments as a CSV file.0

Do they include fund prices as well as shares?
Are prices live or only end of day prices?
How long have they been around? Any chances they could stop their service?0 -
i was a heavy user of the yahoo service until it was sadly discontinued.
There isn't a single alternative, however, Quandl and tiingo have been useful - and they have documentation on their APIs.0 -

They have funds as well as shares.
Shares are update frequently (continuously?) with 20 minute delay from live.
I used it from 2011 to 2015 with some software to update MSMoney.

This is so spot on - I've seen it happen time and again. We become reliant on something that we are not required to pay for (as the funding model is usually based on advertising, corporate sponsorship, etc.) and then they announce they're closing or introduce fees to carry on using whatever it is they've been offering for no charge.0 -

That's the downside of not paying for a service. If you are dependent on a service continuing you should pay for it.0 -
Am I the only one that switched to the Canadian Google Finance? My portfolio from the UK site is still alive and kicking there.

How does the Canadian Google finance work related time difference?0

Use Google Drive, then you can use GoogleFinance(ULVR,"price") to display the price of Unilever on a Google Drive spreadsheet
Then you can have another column with the number of shares you have and the next column has the usual spreadsheet formula =A1*A2/100 and so on.
The GoogleFinance function has many options, for example historic prices
Very flexible, very easy to use and free!
