Hi,
I have not a scooby about tech but have found one of these 3 tv's for a 50 inch that i need and i have a budget of around £440 so these fit the bill. Can the good folks here recommend the best one based on the spec and best one for wall mounting.

To be honest it is not going to be used for gaming just general tv. Or if anyone knows of a better deal please feel free to recommend
Thanks!.

I wouldn’t bother with the Toshiba. It’s made by Vestel in Poland and is part of the supermarket cheapie brigade.
Samsung and Panasonic are both decent brands.0 -
Have a look at Richer Sounds or John Lewis ,Both give you 5 or 6 year warranty
Slightly under budget at 429

Slightly over budget at 469

I bought the 55 inch version of the Samsung UE50MU6120 based on good Which review and can recommend it as excellent compromise between price and picture quality.0

Abbas5001, I'd probably go for the Samsung, it has had good reviews and if you can get a good price try getting John Lewis to price match to get their 5 year warranty.0 -
Thanks for the advice guys - took your advice and decided on the samsung got JL to agree to the price match.
However, just spotted this TV when i was about to buy. Its a Philips and has an ambilight which is pretty cool. Its on offer at £429 with AO:
https://ao.com/product/55pus6262-philips-tv-tv-silver-51277-108.aspx?&WT.z_PT=AV&WT.z_AT=LED%20TV&WT.z_MT=Search&WT.z_RTM=PLA&WT.z_MAT=Philips%20TV&WT.z_FT=Free%20Standing&WT.z_DT=c&WT.z_PC=55PUS6262&WT.srch=1&WT.z_CN=Philips%20TV%20-%2055PUS6262&WT.z_AG=Brand%20Type&WT.z_KW=55PUS6262&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9q-_59Ot2AIVFW4bCh32gQ1GEAQYASABEgJXOfD_BwE
Is this comparable to the Samsung or would you guys still recommend the Samsung?
Last time i am asking honest! Definitely between these two and that's it!0 -
Stick with the Samsung.0

Its £528 at AO today. But if you want it at about £429 look at Very.co.uk and sign up for 20% off as a first order over 3 months but make sure you pay on time of interest is very high. I have a 3yr old 48in philips which is ok but not as good as the the latest LG that I have. The Philips runs Android and I needed to use a sound bar with it although it does have a sound setting for hanging on a wall but by design the speakers on these new TV's are also thin. Depends upon your listening requirements.0

ps the LG 55UJ630V 55 inch, 4K Ultra HD HDR at £529 less 20% would be a better buy from very.co.uk and is in stock.0

Thanks for the info about toshiba.I’ve always had their TVs over the years with no problems( crossing my fingers now I’ve just said that )
I’ve kniwn them not to be the most expensive , but are they that bad?
I’ll stick with them when I need a new tv.i know that they were threatened to be closed down after some alleged shady dealings in the stock market .
Horses for courses etc. My brother used to love Sony and apparently they went downhill rapidly in the ‘90s.
Sorry for slight ranging to the thread0 -
