Afternoon all,
love the kitchen redruby. Definite kitchen envy going on here.:)
Everything seems to be haywire here. Ive got another infection in my kidneys. Its usually a sign i'm not looking after myself properly (not drinking enough). Usually i dont get any symptoms but i'm tired and feel shaky today so i'm taking it easy by staying in bed. The men can sort themselves out, i'm going to concentrate on me.
Grump has indigestion, the hounds have got bad guts and Youngest has taken root to his computer chair i think. Talking about Grump, he's gone to the local tip.... so many boxes and so much wrapping paper to dispose of.
Onwards and forwards,

Hi chums a bit of a late one but I have been playing cards and scrabble with the family.
Cranky I feel for your HT as this is now the 2nd week of the cold bug and although `I feel ok in myself, I still have a stuffed up head, and tonight started the cough.
DD has dosed me up with Buttercup syrup which tastes disgusting but hopefully it will get me through the night without too much coughing I may go home earlier than planned as I am concerned both about my house getting too cold, as `I havn't been there since Sunday, plus I don't want to pass this bug not the family.
DD wants me to stay but I will see how I feel in the morning. We had some snow today, but not enough really to worry about ,but its bitterly cold tonight. DGS Danny and I chatted on Facetime and he said New York is getting a good few inches of snow at the moment and we normally get his weather a few days later, so maybe early New Year we will get some more.
A couple of lovely people on here told me about the allowance attendance special rules for terminally ill folk that Margaret can claim for, which is paid pretty quickly
I think she is stressing about the fuel bills as they have no central heating and she has to have the fire on all the time whilst Frank is at home in bed in the sitting room. She dosn't begrudge him being warm I think she is just stressing about how to pay the bills later on.
He has always done all the finances and she really doesn't have a clue how much things cost.Bless her she is of the generation, at 81, that just accepted that the husband did the finace and she just had her house keeping every week..
DD is going to make a few phone calls and have a long chat with her tomorrow.I am pleased that they made thier anniversary though and apparently DD made a small cake for them and Frank even managed a tiny slice .He has been given some strong anti biotics for his infection from the catheter so they should kick in fairly quickly.
Its been a dreadfully worrying situation for them both, and so sad and they are both living from day to day at the moment. She just sits by his bed holding his hand, and they talk about their life together and she I thinkis trying to get as many good memories as possible between them while she can.His body is failing him, but his mind is so active.
I hope I am not bring you all down with our woes but its good to unburden oneself at times I have known them both for 35 years since my DD was a teenager and just starting to go out with their son on their early dates. He only lived in the next road, so I have seen him grow up and the two families have aways been good friends, and I shall be very sad when we lose our 'Frank, a lovely man who would rather do you a good turn than a bad one. I just don't want him to have any pain at all bless him. I will have to have a word with the Big Guy I think
right time I turned in I think
take care chums and keep warm and dry if you can
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Jackie, I expect you are all tucked up by now but this is such a hard thing that your family is going through. It is wonderful that those two dear people have these last days together, but Margaret must be so exhausted. Her emotions must be intense and she will need such support when it is all over.
How blessed she is to have such a loving family around her.
Sorry for intruding but I couldn't just read your post and leave it.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thank you monnagran for your kind words.Yes, poor little scatty Margaret, whom we all adore is going to need our help, and I am sure we will all rally around her..
They really are a very special pair, not rich or famous, but together they have such love and affection for each other. Two very ordinary folk who have worked hard all their lives, and brought up two lovely children.
Like me they adore their grandkids, and give them time and love and have helped tham to grow up into nice law abiding adults.
I shall miss Frank's dry witand twinkle in his eye, and his big smile when you go to visit them.
He is the chap who makes sure I am well stocked with apples from his tree, and Margaret loves nothing better than sourcing wool from CS for my blankets that I make for charity.
She wil ring up and say Hi Jackie I have found some more 'treasure'for you in the CSand sure enough eventually my DD will appear with a bag of 'donations' for my blankets
In fact Frank has one over his feet at the moment that I made him a couple of years ago.
He will chat for hours about football or cricket with my grandsons and always found time to natter to them at family gatherings, a thoroughly nice ordinary chap, but a giant of kindness, compassion and common sense. We will all miss him I think. I hope he is painfree for the next few weeks at least ,he soo deserves that.
