Morning All,
The last few days has flown by. Christmas Day went well while I was cooking dinner my DD and OH went collect my DM from her nursing home, they all enjoyed the dinner and have already hinted we should do it again next year.
Boxing Day was relaxing. Took our DD back home, as she was working a night shift. It was good to have her home for a few days.
Had only been in for a few hours, when the snow started, it left a good layer, but the rain has washed a lot away now.
Today as it is just myself and OH at home - I am going nowhere and doing very little.

Half an hour ago I looked out of the bedroom window to see what looked like very heavy rain. When I looked closer- it was snow!:j
Have just had a shower and looked out of the bedroom window and it is now turned to rain. Washing machine is on, middle dd's laundry is on an airer in the bedroom and she comes to collect it later today and pick up her car. The dishwasher is nearly fully loaded and can be switched on after breakfast.
Youngest suggested a shopping trip or a walk out later but does not want to miss seeing her sister so will see how things go.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Morning,
Another one here with kitchen envy RR, no wonder you are pleased.
Glad that you managed to enjoy your Christmas to some degree Dumpling, what a great idea to get another dog, wouldn't be without my two, such good company.
We have blizzards here but fingers crossed it's not laying at the moment, the stables messaged first thing to say that the horses will be staying in their stables all day rather than stand out in it all which am pleased about, love the thought of my girlie all warm and cosy eating hay
The turkey was stripped yesterday, portioned up into the freezer and the bones boiled down for stock, today will be soup making so that's lunch sorted.
Thank you for the news on Frank and Margaret JackieO think it's a very good idea to get a rota together to help in his care.
It's a year today since my darling Mum went into the hospice, my mind is full of her at the moment, best thing is that now when I think of her the first picture I see is of her when she was hale and hearty, not the poorly lady of the last few days, that is such comfort.
Take care for all poorlies and those caring for them, have a good day folks x0 -
Morning all.
Cold and frosty here. I’ll have to scrape the leftover and now iced up snow from my car this morning. Plan A was to go home today, Plan B is now go on Saturday. DM just needs a bit more TLC. I’m not coming back down for Hogmanay so a couple more days won’t hurt.
So, I’m off for a little bit of shopping and collecting my JL order which has been hanging on since Sunday.
On Tuesday I ordered a new mattress in the JL clearance. The one I’ve got is at least ten years old and mostly uncomfortable except in one particular spot. I was delighted to see that they will deliver to my area and remove the old mattress too, usually stuff is sent to local couriers for delivery. I’m slightly cynical but wait to be wrong!
Hugs and good vibes to everyone, happy, sad, in pain, mended or on the mend.
Happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning, I hardly slept and am quite tired. We have had a lot of snow overnight but I think the roads should be ok. I may have to go out and do a job, not sure yet.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
No snow here. Apparently we had a dusting in the night but now the sun is shining and my it's very cold, brrrrrrrrrrrr !
Well we survived ! Christmas was not without incidents, mostly revolving around my Dadand culminating in Jasper pup being sick on my carpet :rotfl:. But on a positive note I don't need to hoover the dining room as Jasper beat me to it
. However I missed getting involved in most of them as I was either cooking or playing with the DGC
. Anyway this morning I feel like I have been hit by a truck and I am coughing. So today I am doing nothing remotely workish, nada, rien. Mr Fix It and I will sit and watch some recorded TV and films, as the only TV I have actually sat and watched in 3 days was the Bake off !
As there are plenty of leftovers in the fridge / cupboards etc, it will be a pick and mix for lunch and tea. We certainly won't starve, now if I could arrange for a 6ft 6 inch blond man ( imagine Thor  ) to wait on me, hand foot and finger today, I would be eternally grateful :rotfl:.
RedRuby and Camelot .... jealous moi... not much :whistle:
Dumpling I hope your family are ok, and Becky is feeling a little better.
TA hope the appointment for Mr TA goes well tomorrow.
Nelski I hope you made the most of your day off.
Thanks Cranky for the start off and I hope you get sorted with your dressings.
Right must get Thor to get me some sustenance, Oh I wish :rotfl:.
Hugs to all the poorlies, sad or worried. Take care all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Hollyharvey I hope you'r ok? You have been missed not only by me0

Well I am shattered 10 guests here for two days which is more than enough for me, don't get me wrong I love having them but love having my house back to myself even moregoing to have a quick whip round this morning then plonk myself on the sofa with a film and a roaring fire.
Still got some of mums presents here and some food bits she can have back we have enough cheese crackers for several years
Right I need to get on and do nothing !
Jackie O Im so glad Frank got to share his anniversary with his dear wife xx
Tru thanks again :T0 -
Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Was hoping to feel much better today, but not really, stomach is still very unsettled although I have not been sick again, just do not go too far from the loo. Sorry TMI
We have no snow, although Leicester seems to have had a fair amount. OH said it was snowing earlier, but the ground was wet, it has not settled.
Going to try and get up for an hour after lunch so OH can have his siesta, then back to bed.
I have run out of books both on my tablet and library books, so am going to have to have a search for something to read.
Love the kitchen pictures......great kitchen envy here, especially that sink!!!0
