    Steer clear of Lidl fireworks!

The Catherine wheel exploded in one go within seconds of lighting the touch paper, and leaving me with a permanent hearing loss which also affects my balance. .
I wrote a letter but they didn't give a damn and insisted they were safe.
I don't think I will be buying any at all this year!

I have always bougbht lidl fireworks about last 4 years and never had any problems.
If fireworks had left me with permenant hearing loss and balance probs then i would not be just accepting a letterback, and would be going to see a solicitor.
  • I know about lidl and aldi, but from what i can tell this website

    http://www.discountfireworksdirect.co.uk/

seems to be the cheapest for every firework, especially barrages and single big rockets.

Then there is https://www.fireworksarcade.com/ which doesnt seem to be cheap for what you get.

is discount fireworks direct the cheapest place to buy? if anybody knows anywhere cheaper, or more fireworks for your money then i would be grateful.

I have not checked out the other thread yet, but there is alot of pages.. ill check it out now, apologies if everything i need to know has already been posted.

    Cheers.

hi to everyone on the forum btw :)

Let's get this back on track..
The thread is the "The Great Cheap Fireworks Hunt"

Asda have just got theirs out on display. I'm popping in later so will report back but they do usually have some good deals.
I know one year we had one that didn't go off and we just took the reeipt back, highlighted the item and they refunded it which was the usual good Asda cust service.

Probably would have been arrested under the "Prevention of Terrorism Act" had we walked back in store with it and up to CS desk

But the fireworks do seem cheap on that site, and it looks kosher. However it may well be an advert. Also I can't see any mention of mail order on the site.

Obviously posting his own site - if genuine, why post another expensive site, unless you're just trying to make us think yours is great value by comparison.

Genuine cheap fireworks thread over on Shop but Don't Drop:

It started last year, but the last few pages are 2007.
  • Bl**dy fireworks have been going off up our end for a few weeks now, my cats are terrified to go out.

We got woken up on Saturday at 3am with rockets going of, it did look quite impressive only the hours and date were wrong.
