Orange Out Here 5 free texts a day...

I had this on my sim two years ago, then my friend accidently threw it away... Now i want it back (after coming out of a contract because its too expensive for me - a student) what do you think my chances are. Thinking of writing a letter, maybe get my dad to send it - as a loyal customer of 5+ years.

How do you think it would be best to phrase it?

(i would really really really like it back!!!!!)

thanks for any help

  • call 450, provide your [old] number, and see if they can send you a replacement sim for that acct.

If you havn't used for 2yrs, your acct. may have been deactivated and therefore lost (your number aswell)

It's an old tariff, and will not be re-instated unfortunately. even if you kick up a fuss, there'll be very very little chance of you getting it back.

  • Sorry but I wouldn't waste my time if I was you, orange did away with it years ago and their stance has always been as soon as you lose the simcard / damage it / or its deactivated then thats it tough luck. They didn't want to continue the deal in the first place but bowed to consumer pressure.

Your only chance of getting one would be ebay which they sometimes come up for sale on.

I've still got my Orange Out Here PAYG sim card giving 5 free texts, and I remember the days when they tried to stop the offer - even though it was originally advertised as 5 free forever! And the alternative was to either get £10 back (that we paid for), or continue the line. I chose to continue, and after about 2 weeks, the offer was re-instated.

Anyway, my phone was stolen about 3 years ago and Orange refused to give me the same number / line. After kicking up a big fuss over it (argued about loyal customer, etc), they put the offer back on my account. They refused to do it again should I lose it in future, but I explained that it was STOLEN, and NOT lost, so it's beyond my control, and came to a point that I was explaining how I should deal with a thief in future.... Basically, I should say, "I don't mind you robbing my phone, but let me take the sim card out first, as it's priceless"!

Theoretically, it's a simple replacement sim card with the account switching over between the sim cards. Orange should get its act together.
