Morning CLF
whoop to unexpected days off
another day off in the DMS household! Taking it easy during the day and then off to BFF's tea time to see in the new year and stay over at their new tiny house in the garden :j
Need to go through the freezer and dig out party food bits to take to contribute to evening. Think I'll make a batch of brownies to take as well.
got 2 x ys pints milk out of freezer, also ys ham to take and madam had ys bread for breakfast
cook beetroot and make parsnip soup so as not to waste any produce2018 is going to be the year where we have zero food waste! soup bubbling away
used going wrinkly hg parsnips and 3 way past best apples. Also bunged in a little tupperware of lo veg that's been sat in the freezer for ages
I have had a bit of a lay in until 7.45  then got up and went through my spending in Dec. Pleased to say it wasn't as bad as I feared despite seemingly to be spending on food every day! Came in £34 under budget - although there is still 10 days until my cc statement comes out. But clearly we will be within budget :money:
looked on groceries board and next weekend L1dl is reducing their coffee to £1.49 a pack (from £2.39) worth stocking up if like me you only drink fresh coffee as it's really nice. I'm going to get loads!
[STRIKE]go for a run when the weather clears up a bit.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Hang up washing & do another load[/STRIKE] (and hang it up)

bedsit Bob-thank you, I've never been one for technology!
DD has offered to come with me and really stock up the cat food which would take me well into Jan as I have a voucher that I need to use aswell. That would save me alot of time and hassle. I also want an onion as I've pulled out some YS beef that I want to test drive in the slow cooker.
I had made a vegetable and turkey soup in the slow cooker. I wasn't sure about it at first as I'm very new to slow cooking but the lightness of the soup after so much rich food has been lovely. It's more veg( YS) than turkey but made 5 portions altogether for peanuts.
I'm taking over the pudding to my DMs tomorrow which gives me more room in the freezer for my beef. Also using up some frozen reduced diced veges that I've had in the freezer, they're not earning their keep, need the freezer space so are going in with the beef!
Need to finish off December's budget but today's spends will go in the January budget.
had a trip out to the garden centre yesterday. Got free drinks with my vouchers. All Christmas stock 50% off. I was shocked by how much of their Christmas stock had gone. DD and I only wanted a couple of Christmas bath bombs-they were just sorting them out, also 50% off and I had a coupon for money off. So got 3 Bomb Cosmetics bath bombs for £2. These have been popped away for next Christmas.
Will also update my new diary tonight. Not going out tonight, haven't done for a few years now.
Will have abit of a tidy around, cat cleaning all done, will get washing on radiator when finished.
Still putting stuff away but there is only so much I can carry up on the stairlift with me in one go and boy is that thing slow!!
have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all
So far I have:
Washed hair and allowed to dry naturally
Did cooked breakfast for OH and brother, to use up various lurking oddments in the fridge - including the bits of tomato out of a very small pot of leftover salad, which I popped under the grill. They were none the wiser (though probably wouldn't have cared in any case!) Had to compost the few remaining shreds of lettuce and slices of cucumber etc, but that is the extent of the food waste in this household
Walked dog
Cleaned yucky greasy kitchen- still got floor to do though!
Waste from compost caddy plus some torn up cardboard to compost bin
Bigger cardboard boxes to garage for free ebay packaging
Still to do:
Crackers and cheese, pate etc for lunch Done
I am going to make a big macaroni cheese for dinner, incorporating some mushrooms and ham(Guess who overbought on cheese over Christmas
) Done, used some cheese, but also a few lurking mushrooms, some ham and the rest of the cream. It was yummy, and there is some left for lunch tomorrow
Take down Christmas cards and put ready for recycling when I next go into townDone
Put away box of decorations and return dining room to pre-Christmas tree layoutDecorations away, except for an annoying wreath thing which has gone in the CS bag. Still need to sort dining room.
Clean bathroom Still to do, not done the kitchen floor yet either
Check banks Done, no surprises!
Walk dog again Done
No spending planned, and quite happy to stay in this evening with the dog (he won't like the fireworks) a nice dinner and a glass of wineNothing spent. Will need some milk tomorrow though!
OH and my brother were watching a film that I wasn't interested in, so I spent a couple of hours sorting out my clothes, trying on where necessary and deciding what I would and wouldn't wear. Now got half a bin bagful for the CS. Put annoying decorative Christmas wreath thingy in as wellDiscovered I have vast amounts of body lotion, that I hardly ever use. I have put 2 nearly empty tubs on my dressing table for using up asap, the rest I will have to sort through. Most are old or have been opened, so will probably be heading for the bin.
Also pulled everything out of the airing cupboard and put away, as it is all dry and aired
Cleaned out bottom of larder as some olive oil had been spilt. Put out a tin of ancient breadcrumb type stuff (butchers use it for sausage making) that OH had been hoarding. He hasn't made sausages for ages, and in his current state, won't be doing so anytime soon. Anyway, it smelt off, so wouldn't want to use it anyway  I am going to try it on the bird table to see if the birds like itIf not, it will have to go in the bin.
Now to tackle the washing up .... again
Love a good sort out at New Year, even if a bit early :rotfl:

Morning All,
Today the weather is awful! Quiet day at home.

Need to read the meters for accurate billing0 -
Had a lay-in today and fell asleep hugging my fiancee. Had the best sleep in a while.
I applied for Lloyds current account so that I can open a "save the change" account plus it offers more than my santander account. I'm just waiting for my activation code to open a savings account.
I took the recycling out this morning but annoyed as it wasn't taken on Friday when it should have been so i now have to use 2 green boxes , 1 for paper and 1 for jars/plastic. And have to use 2 food bins.
I've got a load of washing on so will need to take it out once done & have some dishes to wash up.
Me, my fiancee and his parents are all going bowling as a treat and a way to celebrate the new year. We were gonna have a quiet one but we don't get to see his parents too often so his mum suggested it.
Not got too much planned, maybe I'll give bedroom a tidy whenwe get backDebt to fiancee - £404.00 (left to pay) | Save £12,000 in 2018 - £371.90 all together|2,018 items in 2018 (8/2,018)0 -

Afternoon all :hello:
Today’s small things:
Cooked breakfast for us and guests rather than go out which was the suggestion
Guest are moving out of their current house and don’t have a new one so bought us the contents of fridge and cupboardswell received, decanted lots of herbs and spices in to our tubs and stashed the rest. Will weave into menu planning over the next couple of months. My useup box just got very big
Visiting friends on same street tonight, will take some crackers we didn’t use at Christmas, which were gifted to us and a bottle. They’re doing food but it’ll be a quiet one.
Leftovers all round for lunch
Froze some more bits
DH did 2 huge tip runs. Patio looks amazingcan jet wash in spring now.
Amaz0n pantry order arrived, very impressed with haul for £26
More tidying round to get us ahead of ourselves, smalls finished their homework :A
Wishing you all a happy new year :beer:0
