    Morning all :)
I have just updated yesterday's post because I was quite pleased with what I achieved despite a two week old baby and a 4 year old who thinks Grandma should only play with her :) Their mum wanted to go to the supermarket, so I packed her off and kept the kids here. Baby GS was hungry (luckily he will take a bottle - in fact he will eat anything in sight ) and needed a new nappy, which I managed alongside GD's latest obsession which is wrapping presents. She used the ends of 2 rolls of Christmas paper and acres of sellotape to wrap various toys, Christmas decorations, a brush and some dog biscuits :rotfl:

    Anyway, today's plans:
Load of washing in, as it looks as though it will be dry today to peg outside (blummin cold though ) Done, now need to fold and put on airer
Walk dog a bit later (I had a shower and my hair is still damp, I don't want frozen hair!) Done
Some cleaning and tidying Hmm, not really :o
Take back some compost caddy liners that OH bought yesterday thinking they were bin liners :rotfl:My compost caddy lives outside the back door and gets swished out with water as opposed to having liners! Take some recycling with me to the SM (they have recycling bins in the carpark) :)Done, got a refund, the caddy liners were £3, and the value pedal bin liners I wanted only65p
Reheat and blend the celery soup I made yesterday for lunch. Will add some cream :)Done, yummy :)
Sort out rest of turkey and make something with it for dinner, After that, I really won't want to see turkey again for a while! Made a soup / stew thing with all the lurking turkey meat and stock, some chorizo, stock, leftover cooked veg (plus some fresh veg) various bits from freezer etc. Made loads, plenty for lunch tomorrow as well :)
No spending except for some bin liners (though the refund on the compost caddy thingies will more than cover this - and there will be change left over, as those things are expensive ) Did actually have to spend more, as OH needed more painkillers :( But I only had to put in another £2.25 and got: a reduced bunch of celery, reduced lambs liver (not turkey, for dinner tomorrow), some small packets of cheese biscuits that GD always asks for and the bin liners, plus large packs of paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Oh, and mend those trousers that seem to feature in my list every day :oI am about to do this - honest!

That is all I can think of at the moment - will be back later to update :)

    Morning folks

Another quite good sleep last night :) I am catching up gradually. I also managed a bit of crochet while watching a film. Going to have to start cooking again as OH isn't. Last night he apparently really fancied a pizza... that is def code for "I don't want to cook". He also made a pretty rubbish chucked together meal the night before because he couldn't be bothered with what I suggested.

Having said that, he's gigging tonight and is away overnight so I'm going to put together a pasta bake

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Check postage on international parcel and purchase (chap bought the item them asked if I'd ship to Greece!!) - done.
    • Send updated ebay invoice - done
    • Post ebay parcel - done. I'm glad to have it gone from the house.
    • Crochet
    • Finish planning family quiz - cancelled. Am very glad as I can't stand quizzes (not glad that MIL is ill though). OH and have decided to go out for a lovely dinner instead.
    • Early night
    have a good one all

  • Morning all! I hope you are feeling better clf (and all others that have been grotty).

Am expecting a friend for lunch, we half made plans to pop out to a local bakery for a walk and soup. Just contemplating whether the odd ingredients I need to buy to create a lunch out of the fridge leftovers mean it's cheaper to entertain out than in! She is a bit of a foodie so...

Laptop is just powering up to do some banking tasks (gulp). Some tight weeks ahead.

Currently snuggled without heating on in bed with hot water bottle! I LOVE hot water bottles over heating! No paying guests or lodgers at the moment, so can economise on creature comforts! x
  • Late post for me today, and another NSD, not that I particularly count them. But, it's always nice when I remember :D

WFH again as didn't for commute, but managed a few jobs:
Strained stock DH made in SC overnight after he stripped a ys chicken we roasted yesterday. I have him well trained :rotfl:
DH ate leftovers for breakfast and lunch
DH and friend spent 2 hours digging DH van out of soggy grass. Don't ask, free exercise and saved £130 we were quoted for a tow
Watch some episodes of box sets on free TV
couple of loads of washing done
    more leftovers for tea :o
Stashed some more LO in freezer. Apart from some cheese and some hm rocky road I think we're about ok. May have to loose last of coleslaw if not eaten tonight.
    Check banking, update spreadsheet.

Think that's about all, hope everyone is ok. Purps.

    Afternoon all!

I went out for lunch with my mum today then took her to the dentist then the chemist (it seems to be the month for tooth problems, I hope I'm not the third!) and then to do her supermarket shop. I did buy a couple of things in the sale (it keeps her happy as she gave me money for Christmas) but I will probably return them tomorrow. I still haven't bought mascara and eyeliner.

The fridge is fairly empty but the freezer is full to bursting but I'm unsure what to cook, the fox is going to eat better than the rest of us tonight as I came back with a lot of OOD food from my mum's fridge for him/her!

I have a bit of tidying up to do and some washing to be dried and then I will settle for the evening to watch EastEnders with a cup of tea.

Hope everyone is warm and cosy and winning the battle against various lurgeys!

  • Still eating our way thru leftovers here and I got a lot less in this year compared to previous years!
DD hasnt even touched the crackers and usually she beavers her way through them.

Have a turkey and veg soup in the slow cooker, had a turkey dinner tonight (DD is a vege).

Went out for cat litter today and came home with a YS dessert down from £9 to £2, it is scrummy and plenty of it. Bought hardly any cake for Christmas, did get some chocolate in but I'm not really eating it, DD is picking at it (at this rate it will go back with DD to uni) so the dessert made a welcome change.
Picked up some more big packs of reduced sweets to tuck away for birthdays. Glad to get them now esp as I'm going to be out of action for 4+months 2018 after surgery so I will be prepared and will have saved money.
House looks trashed again. As soon as I've put presents away more spring up. Seem to be continually tidying up.
Banking all checked ready to pay some bills tomorrow.
Must balance up my spends book tomorrow and enter latest receipts.
DD wants to go to the local garden centre tomorrow as they have a 50% sale. Must hunt out the vouchers I have for free hot drinks for there. Will go for a look but there is nothing I want or need from there and it wouldn't surprise me if alot of items have already gone.
Well thats about it from me tonight, have a good evening everyone x

    Evening all,
Activities rather stymied by bad headache today but 2 lots of codiene seem to have improved it enough to feel like nicking mr f's peanuts.
*Did not have planned trip to North Yorkshire. Went for a walk to more local place instead so saved 124 mile's worth of fuel.
*Took flask of coffee, biscuits & picnic with us.
*Bought a few reduced items in the shop - one was a small item I was intending to buy anyway, but got for half price. The others were two lovely half price birthday cards & a small gift (also half price).
*Leftover ham & mushrooms used up for dinner plus leftover trifle.
    *Did next week's meal plans.
    *Wrote shopping list.
    *Knitting.
Big Budget Day planned for tomorrow.

Morning lpp  I'm working today too :( but decided to wfh. Madam and oh here so hope I can get on. If not will go down to library and take laptop with me... Only working 8.30-2.30 so being at home is the most efficient way of being free outside of those hours

yesterday I managed to pick up a variety of reduced items - 8 pts of milk for 92p, 2 packs of fancy sliced chicken for 10p each, bits to stash for next xmas i.e. cards, wrapping paper & crackers & madam some fleecy pjs (my first xmas present!), a lovely reindeer onesie from M&S & a dressing gown with pjs for less than the dressing gown (on it's own) I ordered online. I saved £27 :money:

Was hoping to go for a run but weather looks shocking. will have to be very resourceful and if there's half hour not raining go or otherwise will go tomorrow...

Been researching batch cooking. Going to attempt to get to the point of only cooking 1 or 2 times per week :T what are your favourite batch meals?

    make turkey curry & freeze

Need to call Aldi as was over charged yesterday  and won't be going back that way until next Thursday....

Going to a friend's for evening so getting fed & watered there :money:

will return some bits to Mr T that I ordered online for madam and have managed to get better deals elsewhere :money:

I will have xmas dinner soup for lunch. Oh & madam can have some snacky bits ;)

    update my spending diary

check onepoll - I will get to payout this year!

do a load of washing & put mountain of washing away...

Ok that will do. Have a great day guys
