I just read that the B00ts website crashed it was so busy, Lotte!
We are fed and watered, I've taken my mum home and I'm in bed munching chocolate!
DS took some pictures of the cats (one sitting on his shoulder!) and framed them for my Christmas present along with a beautiful bottle of Prosecco. My mum gave me a generous amount of money with which I am going to treat myself to my namesake's(kind of) eyeliner and mascara as mine are totally dried out, the remainder will be spent on getting DS's impacted wisdom tooth removed! Of all the times to have toothache but I have managed to book an appointment online for 4th.
Off to watch EastEnders....
There website is always dreadful they need to upscale their IT, I feel!
Do have an NHS dentist you can access today, in my area there is a OHH dentist NHS service you have to call be triaged but they will see you out of hours, can prescribe if needed, the cost is the NHS fees? I hate to think of people in pain.
Today leftovers from yesterday with salad, baked potato etc...
NSD day
Potter around home, I think I need to drop the family back to catch the coach.0 -
Hi Boxing Day Frugalistas,
Wasn't intending to resume posting till Jan 1st but then thought I may as well start as I mean to go on, as we are planning an angelic 2018 where finances are concerned. So today:
*Fancied a trip out. Pooled scant remains of our December personal spends which raised enough for the £3 parking at a lovely historic park plus a coffee each. Took a slice of Christmas cake each from home.
*The deli at above venue was selling off its stock prior to closing down so used last £5 of December grocery budget to buy 2kg fairtrade brown rice & 3 big bags of posh Italian pasta. That will last ages.
*Sorted through yesterday's unwrappings & salvaged ribbons, paper & gift bags for re-using.
*Leftovers for lunch.
*Leftovers for dinner.
*Leftovers for snacks.
*Leftovers when passing the fridge(mr f)
*Have cast on the scrummy yarn I received for Christmas. Am making huge slouchy jumper for myself. 242 sts to a row. I will probably just about be finishing it for Winter 2020!
*Planned Rubber Turkey Activities (tomorrow), which will get lots of meals into the freezer, also set Big Budget Day for Friday.
*Talked mr f out of hitting the city centre sales until Saturday when a) I've set January's budget & b) We've had time to think & plan a bit more what we actually want/need to buy.
*Unbelievably, a present for s-in-law already sorted for next year! (Something I had leftover from a craft stall & learned yesterday that she would like) That will be around £20 saved. Start as I mean to go on.
Ok, my new knitting is calling me & maybe a choccy.
Love to all (how nice to see BB & LPP dropping in x)

Lotte, we are registered with an NHS dentist but they are usually booked up about three months in advance though I will try to give them a call tomorrow.. I am away tonight but I will ask tomorrow if he wants me to take him to A&E if I have no joy with our dentist. The appointment on 3rd is a private one, it'll be spendy but the service there is usually speedy and fantastic.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

Just popping in quickly to see how everyone is getting on and how their Christmas has been. Lovely to read what everyone has been up to
Haven't had chance to get on sooner as we have had a relative staying over who is going home first thing in the morning. He is taking a birthday present with him to deliver in Jan for me which will save on postage.
Have had great fun with the family tradition of playing a card game that we've always played since I was a child.Played it for hours this afternoon. Cold cut and chips today and tomorrow with the left over meat I'm going to make some meals and get them in the freezer.
Decided to avoid all relatives that were over on the 23rd. We have alot of tension within the family, even my DM was nervous of a fight breaking out so decided to avoid as I felt myself getting really anxious just at the thought.
DD wanted to have a look at the sales including B@@ts in town this morning. I was nervous after the problems with the B@@ts website that it would be incredibly busy (it was last year, in the next town last year shoppers broke the automatic doors forcing them open) but it was very quiet. Was really shocked. Have a few more presents and birthday presents for next year. Also stocked up on half price wrapping paper and special cards. Must start tracking my savings again.
1LL I've also been saving any gift bags i can reuse, all tucked away safely
Planning to make a leftover turkey and reduced veg soup in slow cooker (present off DD) tomorrow that will be handy to have in as a lighter meal.
The cats are all 'Christmassed out!!!'
Hopefully will be able to check in again before New Year. Take care everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all :hello: glad everyone has had a good time.
Excellent running DNMS must get back on the horse so to speak, but need to feel well again first. Not run since September, so will need to remember that
I’m back at work today but will be working from home. Need to sort through fridge and work out what needs going in freezer, put quiche and sliced ham in yesterday. Will cook a chicken we were going to have yesterday but didn’t in the end, so that’s today’s meals sorted. Other things:
Not work too long but be productive
Check banking, update sheet
Check for any surveys
Update my gift sheet with some items I bought in sales
Find homes for last of gifts
Some washing to keep on top of it
Maybe some knitting tonight, finally finished sewing the ends and buttons on my jumper yesterday
Move some money from annual bills account for annual plan that goes out tomorrow.
Agree with the wise foxgloves and 1LL need 2018 to be financially spot on, so need a good start. Must check my January plan.0 -
Purps are you Mrs Frugalwoods frugal Jan? I have joined again. Might head over and have a gander. doneI really want to make the most of the considerable food stores we have currently before buying anymore food! Really going for a frugal fast in Jan....
Last year in Feb I watched a Ted talk called the habits of successful people (or something like that I can dig it out for anyone interested) One of the things it said was write what you want to achieve over the next year but write it out as if it was your yearly appraisal. Also plan out your following week on a Friday and make time for your priorities (i.e. the things you said you wanted to achieve) I actually did it and 90% of the things I wanted to do I achieved. Going to do it again
Today - my db & family are visiting. We had hoped to be going for a walk but really depends on the weather. If not board games and tea! I hadn't planned to do food so thinking sandwiches, soup, crackers & cheese and I'll make a chocolate pudding to have with cream
[STRIKE]hang up washing, clean bathroom[/STRIKE] & vacuum upstairs this morning before they get here....
Go through fridge and plan to use up/freeze anything in danger...
will do some knitting later on
if I have time walk to the library and get some new books for madam. We have just read the faraway tree & the wishing chair series so want to have a gander if there's anything similar as she really enjoyed
working tomorrow so need to get clothes/lunch/bag ready & set alarm! Will wfh in the morningDF as at 30/12/16

Thanks purps! I'm really enjoying it but need to build up strength in my legs as they are so tired afterwards! It's getting better and now just in the evening but looking forward to getting back to full fitness!
