Boots Sale

Had a quick scout round today - not nearly so many isles left of sale stock as previous years - just not sure whether to go or not????? hmmmmmm.....I just can't stand the people who literally stick their arms out and scoop everything into huge bags so that there's literally nothing for those who just would like a couple of things - then they go sit in the corner to go through the bags. Anyway - there were a lot of people today 'having a look'! Hope everyone manages to get some things they need and that it is good natured - stay safe!0

My Mum went int today, said they had quite a bit left.
I'll be sticking with my usual haunt, don't fancy carrying the load back from Meadowhall...

I couldn't reach the Star and a very nice lady who wasn't dashing in like a locust very kindly passed it to me. The other bits-that was when I got stuck in the aisle with the wheelchair. With one item I literally had to duck low under baskets, and luckily it was on the end of the shelves, how I got back up again I don't know but once freed I got out fast!!
Shockingly in the next town we have a very big Boots. Last year on Boxing Day with the 50% sale the staff told me there was a huge queue and as they were unlocking, the shoppers broke the automatic doors forcing them apart as the doors were not opening quick enough. It's frightening!!.
Honestly - isn't it sad that consumerism reduces people to acting like animals. How awful that no one had the good manners or sense to allow for your wheelchair  S
I hope those who broke the doors got charged with criminal damage.
Whilst I'm all in favour of the fun of a sale I do question the wisdom in :money: advertising the sale quite so much. I just can't help but think there's a serious accident waiting to happen (think Black Friday frenzies of past years) and store staff are not equipped to deal with such a situation - nor should they have to.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I went into Norwich Boots today ( Castle Mall) lots there to choose from (plenty of pink!) Also a fair but in Chaplefield last week unless it’s changed, but there was more stuff in Castle Mall. This will be the first time in years that I’m not going to bother! I only needed a few bits - I still have lots left from last year as some of my family decided to do a secret Santa last Christmas, so needed much less! I was planning to go tomorrow but to be honest I just cant face getting up & the mad rush for the few bits needed, so I decided to take a hit on it & get it today at half price! I got about 6 boxes I of stuff ( mainly for men) I also had some money off vouchers to use so I got extra off too. I expect once my supply is used up next year I will do it again, but not this year – I will be having a lie in! Good luck everyone who goes I hope you get what you want!Too much of a good thing can be wonderful!0

kerri gt- as far as I am aware no charges were brought for criminal damage:mad:.
I felt sorry for the staff because a couple of them could see what was happening to me but they couldn't get near to help me and if I think had they would have been risking verbal or physical abuse which they shouldn't have to put up with:(.
My local store on sale day it's like a stampede, the staff do put up with a lot that they shouldn't have to and I hate to think what else goes on in the next town store:(.
I do remember the days when Boots had their sale and you could leisurely go in, no predicting, no blatent consumerism or greediness, it just happened when it happened. That was back in the day when people didn't really know about a Boots sale and you were just fortunate if you were in the store and stumbled on the sale productsDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You too!
I don't like Meadowhall at the best of times so can't face it, haha :rotfl:
I really shouldn't get much as I have a few things stashed away, there's a few things I would like for myself and a few stocking fillers but I'm not holding out much hope based on stock levels :huh:0
