Morning all. So lovely to read of great days yesterday.

I had a sudden surge of energy late last night so tidied the kitchen and found homes for some presents.

Today DH is back to paid stuff so I plan to:

    Walk dogs
    Get washing up to date
    Dust dusty bits in LR

    And maybe:

    Clean car
    Wash front door

    Have a great day everyone.

Morning all. Hope you get some sunshine for a Boxing Day walk (beautiful blue sky here).

We had a lovely day yesterday with DS2 and family. Rosie didn't stray far from the turkey and was rewarded for her vigilance.

Today DH has gone to play trains, so I can do exactly what I want (i.e. very little :p).

    Terrific Tuesday Boxing Day

    S&s kitchen - done
Inc sort through what is in the fridge - plan! - done
    S &s bathroom - done

Allocate tasks to any available minion - sorting recycling, drying up and putting away, making own beds. Sadly, no minions here today...
Ensure same minions look after ALL pets...cage cleaning, feeding, exercising etc. ....but Rosie will still expect a long walk, for which she have to wait until after lunch, by which time I shall have caught up with Christmas Bakeoff and some of the sleep I've missed over the past week!

Gutting the kitchen today.. it’s a sty and I have people descending to make mess later.. not looking forward to it.. I am exhausted, my back hurts, my hip hurts more, Twinkle has developed a cold and I honestly just want to sit and do nothing!

    Shopping list..

Milk, pizza, tuna, bread, fish stick things, spready cheese and ritz crackers because I ate them!

    I think that is everything!!

One pineapple duly prepped, diced and frozen now that I have room in the freezer.

Mr LW has requested Stilton and parsnip soup for tonight's dins, so that takes care of a parsnip sitting in the fridge looking a tad sorry for itself; we have been saving the "crumbs" off the Stilton that fall off whenever someone cuts a piece, so they will go into the soup.

Dog-biscuit crumbs vacuumed off the carpet.

    S&S duly done.

My list is now complete except for the maybe items. Tuesday list is done. House is hoovered and swept through. Recycling and rubbish put out.

Rest of day will now be playing with the dogs and catching up with some TV recordings.

  • Living Room sorted, as it was just picking up cups, glasses and a few crisp packets from his nocturnal munching.

I think 2pm is a decent time to hoik somebody's carcass out of bed to CLEAN THE KITCHEN AGAIN.

If he wants me to make this lump of pig which I don't even eat, I want the kitchen back in the condition I put it into on Christmas Eve first.

Topped up engine coolant (my car drinks the stuff) and washer bottle - which took ALMOST TWO PINTS  I know I have been using it a lot, lately, then washed the car, so now I can see through all the windows, not just the bits the wiper blades sweep. Looks way better...until I have the temerity to drive it again, anyway. Oil needs topping up too, but I am letting it come to room temperature as it's been in the shed, to make it slightly less viscous.

    Argh.

All I wanted was the kitchen clean so I could cook something he likes.

What I got was a quick trip to the loo whilst he washed a mug up, only to come out to find that he's chucked the gammon into a saucepan and is rapidly boiling it. No spices, no aromatics, no skimming, no gentle heat to keep it together. Just straight from the packet into boiling water.

And the rest of the kitchen is still a mess, so I can't/won't attempt anything else in there.

All I want to do is something I enjoy - cooking - but he just won't let me, no matter how many times I tell him I want to cook.

ETA: It's been boiled to death, dry and tasteless. Another fiver down the drain (or in this case, probably down the cat's gullet).

JUST LET ME COOK!!!!!! I'M BETTER AT IT THAN YOU!!!!
