VULPIX we’re only in Ludlow so haven’t gone far but it’s nice not feeling guilty about doing nothing. The first day I was a bit on edge and wishing I was at home but yesterday I really felt myself relax, what DH calls coming down a level, so I’m enjoying it now. They had Ludlow Secret Gardens yesterday with eleven gardens open, it was really good as I love looking at other people’s gardens and houses. We only managed four of them as DH’s heart failure means he gets exhausted and breathless quickly but both really enjoyed it.
VINTAGEHISTORIAN well done on your Christmas purchase. The going to uni hamper is a good idea but don’t forget to stress that you need to take ibuprofen after food. My DD had awful gastritis once because she was taking ibuprofen for flu but wasn’t eating so it irritated her stomach lining. I’m always paranoid about saying to people now lol.
CHRISSY you’re super speedy to have your parents done already. Hope you get good news about DD’s fish and chip Christmas dinner. Not sure what we’ll do this year, none of us really has enough room to seat everyone but the pub in our village that does Christmas dinner was a bit of a let down last year. Would be nice if one of the other places opens this year, we’ve got enough of them. If you need to eat or get a haircut then our village is the place to come. Every time a shop closes down a foodie place opens up. We’ve got five pubs, three Italian restaurants, two Indian restaurants, a Chinese takeaway (not nice unfortunately) an English restaurant and a tapas bar. Oh and a deli (and a kebab shop although we try to keep that quiet lol). Not many actual shops but you can eat all day here!
GTQ after I saw your post I went straight on to the HoF website to order some of those sets - luckily I remembered just in time that I don’t have anyone to buy them forThey’re a good deal though, we’ll done STOKIE for getting yours.
GYD I’m so glad things have worked out so well for you at last. Your girlie shed is lovely. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
GYD I’m so glad things have worked out so well for you at last. Your girlie shed is lovely.
The shed has been a source of amusement, the builders wanted me to turn it into a pub as our village has no pubs, unlike your FIVE. We have a hardware store, chemist, greengrocer, fishmonger, butcher, post office and a Chinese takeaway. There is a co-op near the doctors but that is in the next village. So no pub and 3 churches. Oh and everything closes on a Wednesday and Sunday. It is bliss0 -
Bloomin eck,my village has an open all hours,a church and strangely a launderette.no pub any more.
I went to view a house today in the village. Nice but not for me.It has a south facing garden but a huge tree in a neighbours which makes the house too dark.I don't know what to do,put the house on the market? I am scared that history will repeat itself and we will sell and not have the right place to move to.But then if the right house comes up and we miss out because we need to sell ours.We bought this house as a stop gap and in 3 years the right house hasn't come up.
GYD Well done on your son moving on,very best wishes to him. Don't think you have nothing to say,ANY garden talk is music to my ears.
Peppa I love these open garden things,I wanted to do that here but met a hurdle as someone jumped on the bandwagon with very different ideas to what I wanted it to be like so it died a death.Have a restful break.
I have nobody to buy the BH stuff for either sadly.
Oh just to say I have given myself an ulcer from taking ibuprofen. It was prolonged use,I just didn't know.
Well done folks cracking on with gift buying/wrapping.I made Strawberry jam yesterday with fruit from the garden.
We are off to the seaside tomorrow.
Take care Vx:0 -

Ouch!
Got my HOF order yesterday morning, arrived just as I arrived at office at 07:45, only ordered lunch time Sat, even if I had to pay the delivery charge, that service would have been worth it.
First cake fed & wrapped:D Can't find the airtight container for it (it's a 10" sq cake) so will have to buy another one this evening. In the mood for getting them out of the way now, so will probably do a few at the weekend, not in any evening until Friday &b that is cleaning, washing & ironing time!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Afternoon everyone, where has the last few weeks gone?? 17 days I haven't picked my laptop up. I haven't really been up to much, and done nothing Christmassy except watch Christmas puzzles on my watch list to see if they go down. DS went off to Naples this morning til Sunday so just DD1 and I this week, which means we can turn the shower down (its seized up and DS has it boiling) DD1 and I like it much cooler. DD1 has been to Poland, Krakow which she loved, with some friends and then a few days later Germany with work. She came over for lunch on Sunday with Thumper so I grabbed as many cuddles as I could as they are so hard to get :rotfl:
3FORHOLIDAYS oh I hope you have a lovely holiday in July. You could have called it a Chicken Pox party at Thumpers nursery lol, 22 kids had it!
CHRISSY yes it is annoying how long it takes to get these things through the system, your poor DD, she did well to cope all those years she wasn't diagnosed. It was DD2 who has had to push and push, she knew things weren't right very early on, we thought he was just slow at getting to each of the milestones but then he started showing classic symptoms of autism, I don't think he has it as bad as it can be, but you cant tell until they get older and they cope less and less with RL situations. That is a lot of blood to lose, shouldn't they have given her a transfusion at the time?
JAKESMUM how are you feeling? That is a good idea springing the holiday on DS at the last minute, less time to get worked up over it.
PEPPAPIG unfortunately the daith hasn't worked, it was brilliant for 2 1/2 weeks and now I am back to how I was with headaches and migraines, I'm gutted!! I am another that cant stand sprouts, well most vegetable tbh, I still remember my parents making me sit at the table until I ate them, by then they were freezing cold and it used to make me gag!
NIC sorry I wasn't on here to wish you a Happy Birthday, I hope you had a lovely day. The little **** saying something horrible to your DD, bless her. I'm glad she is doing well at secondary school
VULPIX lovely to see you back. WORST FOOD: DATES, CHRISTMAS PUD, SPROUTS
BEST PRESENT: AS A KID, MY ROLF HARRIS STYLOPHONE, AS AN ADULT: MY KINDLE
WORST PRESENT: I REALLY CANT THINK OF ONE
Well done on the weight loss, I have finally got off my **** and got on the keto diet, I'm not weighing myself but I already feel so much better
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY 21 is very old to be getting chicken pox, but perhaps its more common than I think if MURIE was 20?? Glad you enjoyed the wedding, love the after eight tip! Oh I can just imagine how lovely your house smelt baking Christmas cake
TREASUREQUEEN I know you like crystals, I saw this the other day and thought of you:

Well two weeks on the vitamins have made a big difference her latest blood test shows an improvement so once these tablets end im going to put her on a once a day multi vitamin tablet just to try to keep things on an even keel.
The pub can't/won't accomodate us on christmas day so plan b is a meal out christmas eve .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Goodness, what has happened to the time? sorry, MIA again! Best present? a winter coat, worst? a blinking exercise bike. Both from DH, separate years.
Have felt recently as if l have my own chair at the local hospital. DD has had so many infected cysts/abcesses under her armpit she is peeing penicillin!! but not responding. Back again this afternoon. DS2 has appointments with ophthalmology in 2 separate hospitals, cos he has 2 different problems, one with eyesight and one with muscle weakness causing droopy eyelids and lash inversion.
New neighbour has demoved the dividing fence between us, and is replacing it with a much higher one. (6' +) The man who can has measured the conservatory roof and the materials are due to be delivered early next week. I think l need a new bathroom suite, or a plumber who can re route the waste pipes, as they came crashing down again last week pouring water through the kitchen ceiling and putting all the electrics out. 10pm, so it was fun trying to clean it up in the dark. DGS remembered the torch on his phone so it was a bit easier after that. Sorry that this sounds like a mega me moan, just an explanation of why l haven't been posting recently. l will read back and get up to date hope everyone is staying well, getting better, enjoying the sun, and finding the right house. xxx0 -
Evening everyone, I had to go to hospital for bloods this morning for my colitis and diabetes, I have been to gps twice and the nurses couldn't get any blood, this morning at hospital, first time in and blood done I was literally in and out in 15 mins, of course I have spent this afternoon calming down :rotfl:
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY haha that is what DD1 did when I had my ear pierced, she just said we were going into town, then as we had lunch she said we are going to the body piercing shop, it worked because I didn't have time to get into a state
CHRISSY glad the vitamins are making a difference to DD
MRSINVISIBLE oh your poor DD and DS, not very nice things to have. I hope you get the plumbing sorted it sounds like it was a nightmare, and typical to happen in the dark. Glad your new roof on your conservatory is coming along

Good Morning all,
A beautiful day of sunshine here today, cannot see a cloud in the sky (yet)
Thank you all for the birthday wishes:)
My worst gift was a frying pan from DH( was supposed to be a joke as I had burnt one when we first moved in together) The best gift is my dog, she is a small chihuahua yorkie cross, my mum gifted her to us years ago. House sale has fallen through as couple cannot get a mortgage, good job I have not found a house I like yet lol. Not worried as houses are being snapped up around here.
On the Christmas front- DDs sm*ggle order has come which I will put away for her Christmas Stocking. I also ordered her a doughnut pillow from *sda reduced in the sale. Have ordered our Pantomime tickets for Christmas Eve! We usually cannot get any good seats for Christmas Eve so end up going another day but struck lucky this year so DD and I are so excited! ( DH and DS are not as excited lol)
Vulpix- I like your idea of DH having to run gift ideas past you DD. My DD is 8 and could probably choose better gifts than DH. I now buy my own gifts and he wraps them and always gets me a couple of surprises. Glad im not the only one who has not seen the right house. DH is calling me picky but I dont want to move to a smaller house. We may aswell stay here and all have room.
GTQ- Is that your fist Christmas cake of the year? That is fast delivery for HOF
VintageHistorian- Sounds like you got a good deal on your first Christmas gift purchased
ChrissyG- The PIP forms must be a weight off your mind. My PIP and ESA forms dropped through the door this week. Im trying to work up the courage to read through them properly:( Glad the vits have made a difference with DD bloods
GIYD- Sorry to hear about DS2, hope that this fresh start will be great for him. Hope you and your youngest manage to organise a great Christmas for you both this year.
Peppa- Hope you are having a lovely time, the gardens sound lovely
Free- Hope you manage to get a Christmas puzzle reduced. I have been watching them since January and one on my list was reduced a few weeks back so I got it. Sorry to hear your migraines are back. I had chicken pox at 20 and I had them when I was a child! Was really ill with them at 20 though.
MrsI- Sorry to hear about your kitchen, love how your describe your DD as peeing penicillin but sorry to hear the family have been ill. Get well soon wishes to all.0
