ps Jakes Mum. Body scan is fine. I had my eyes firmly shut from when I lay on the table to when i came out again. I found the hardest part to keep still.I recommend to keep your eyes shut,I didnt feel claustrophobic at all.Good Luckxx

Ahh thank you Vulpix, I have been in before but just to have my head scanned so I think I only went in halfway, I did exactly what you just suggested. Eyes closed from moment of laying down to moment of 'you can get up now' :rotfl: The worst part for me last time was how darned cold it was in there I was physically shaking from the cold!

So sorry about your pants birthday and mothers day :( I hope your meal and easter is MUCH better. I started a tradition off with my kids, I decided that they have to write in the same mothers day card every year now (mostly due to the fact that last year they bought the most extortionately priced cards ive ever seen! £4 each!!) so that when i'm old and wrinkly and they've put me in some granny flat somewhere I can look back through it at 40 years of messages they wrote me :)

    Morning.

It's been nice to get some milder weather the last few days. Shame it's to turn cold by the weekend. But I've been trying to get as much fresh air as possible.

I've had some issues with my DS (10). He is hating school and has been miserable at home. Really fighting with his sisters. They both annoy him. He says everyone annoys him at school, so he has no friends. He doesn't get any work done, nothing written in his jotters, even though he is perfectly capable. I got a call from the deputy head and went in for a meeting to see how we could help him. So this has been on my mind and stressing me out the last week. I feel so bad for him, he looks so sad most of the time. He is the middle child and only boy too. The girls have their dancing that takes up so much of our time. He has to come along twice a week and sit for 2 1/2 hrs. I try and make it up to him by taking him out on his own etc. Not sure it's enough.

I got my nephew some Lego tape that you can stick anywhere. It's like a long strip of silicone tape. It's great stuff. The small roll is £2.50 at Tesco at the moment, I think it's usually £7. I've put it past for his Christmas as his birthday is not long passed.

Oh Nic.I feel for you and your son. Did you say he was having guitar lessons? I have had similar problems with my youngest. All I can say is that it improves with time.It took a long time to find something she was interested in.I tried her at every club going. We found that she enjoyed kick boxing a few years ago and is now about to take her black belt.It has given her a lot of confidence. She also decided that she wanted to learn guitar about a year ago and she has stuck with it.The best thing for her has been getting a Saturday job.No help for you yet as your son is only 10 I know.

What i am saying really is that she seems to have been a child who never liked school or was able to handle the cut and thrust of friendships there. As her peers have matured she has got on better and she has friends now. When he gets to High School he will meet more people and make new friends.None of my children ended up with anyone from primary as friends at the end of high school.

It is a horrible worry I know, but things will improve. You just need to find "his" thing which he likes and it will give him confidence.BTW my dd has made friends at kick boxing with girls from different schools who she would have otherwise never met.

    Love Vx

Evening all. Hugs to those who need them. Seems to be a lot going on for folks so far this year.

Time just seems to be passing me by at the minute. Hoping the better weather days are close so we can get out walking and doing things rather than being stuck inside more often than not

Am going to the photography show on Monday thought with mum at the NEC. We missed it out last year so looking forward to returning. I don't need anything. I have enough camera bits and pieces but always like to look and no doubt my mum will buy something :rotfl:

    Hi everyone:j

Everybody seems to have things going on in one way or another. Big hugs to all. I have not done anything Christmassy but I will admit to watching a Christmas film the other day. Made me feel all Christmassy xx Im trying to declutter but I am wondering where to start lol
Got to go and have an MRI scan on my foot/ankle. That was the result of my hospital appt this week.
Im tired because I am not doing anything productive with my sickness time off work so have given my head a wobble. Time to do what I can to be productive whilst off.

Peppa- Hope DH is home soon. How are you doing with everything that is going on? Big hugs to you xx The bird seed comment made me laugh x
Jakes-mum- Wow that must of been very difficult. I have only had my initial face to face interview for PIP and that was very stressful. My renewal is due this month but I have not heard anything yet. Dreading it. I second what Vulpix said about keeping your eyes firmly shut whilst in the scan machine. I also sing songs in my head or think of things that I need to do. It passes the time really well. Like your mothers day card idea,As a family of four we do that for our Christmas cards and it is wonderful to be able to read back on messages etc.
Vulpix- Hope that your mum is feeling better, sorry to hear you had a rough mothers day and birthday. Hope you had a lovely time at your afternoon tea.
nic2075-Sorry to hear about your DS but it sounds as if you are doing everything you can to help and support him.
Stockiebecks- I am longing for the better weather too, birds tweeting, lighter evenings and being able to have all the doors and windows open without a risk of floods lol

Lordy, its been ages since l was in here. Jakes mum l feel for you with the PIP and ESA neverending blasted treadmill. l agree that the f2f is designed to prevent you getting awarded any level of payment, butl have to say that DS2 and the friend l took to their f2f have both had good results. DS2 was awarded enhanced for both elements and is an 'ongoing' award, friend got enhanced personal care and standard mobility, (10 points) but is afraid to challenge it in case he loses enhanced care.
Peppa, hope that DH's setback is very temporary, and that he is home soon. lt is so hard coping with everything on your own. (even if their only input was to agree with me) mrls input was always welcome. Unless he dared to disagree. lol
Vulpix, wait till you are proper friends again and insist on treats to make up for the lost celebrations.
Nic, hang in these are tough times for anyone let alone a10yr old, wont bore you all with my experience, but they do get through it, and things do get better. xx

Afternoon everyone, sorry I haven't been on I just don't know where the time is going and I have been quite miserable with my Fibro the last few weeks. I had to miss out on a Meet and Greet with Alpacas this morning, part of DD1s Christmas present to me and DS had to go in my place, as I just couldn't face not being able to join in because of the blooming pain. Celebrated DD1s birthday on Friday blimey how the heck did she get to 29  she has had her usual birthday treat of a new tattoo :D DS has a new job as he has been virtually bullied out of his current one, he just has to go in tomorrow and hand his notice in. DD2 has been at the hospital fri night and Saturday with her OH as he has been really ill, hopefully on the mend now with antibiotics inside him. I had a lovely mothers day with lovely thoughtful presents and everyone home for dinner. We have had 3" of snow over night so its quite blooming cold, having the heating on so much this winter I am dreading them putting my DD up.

TREASUREQUEEN yes my DD1 and I love our crystals in the home too, I hope you haven't had much more trouble from your neighbours

04642181 I couldn't believe no one posted on here for 5 days, I have never known it so quiet. I too am not being productive with all this pain, my house is going to the dogs!!!

PEPPAPIG how is DH now? Is he home from hospital? I hope you are ok by yourself!

JAKESMUM well done on getting through the F2F I hope it all goes smoothly and you hear back quickly

VULPIX I am so sorry I never got on to wish you a Happy Birthday my lovely and I'm so sorry it didn't go as you would have wanted it to go and also your Mothers Day, hopefully it has been redeemed at much more expense than usual :D Glad your poor mum has found out the reason of the falls and is much better now.

NIC oh your poor boy feeling so sad, is he interested in any clubs? Does he have a male relative who could give him time and attention when you are dancing with the girls? It must be heartbreaking for you seeing him like this, as others have said hopefully he will have more friends when he goes to bigger school

STOKIEBECKS I hope you had a good time at the camera show

MRSINVISIBLE that is so sad that your DS friend is afraid to challenge the decision because he is afraid of losing one part. It really is so unfair the system in this country.

NIC I do feel for you and your DS but hope the words of some of those who’ve been through something similar have made you feel more like there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

VULPIX I can’t imagine you and MrV being out of sorts for too long and I hope you enjoyed your birthday afternoon tea.

JAKES MUM I hate doing DH’s PIP forms when they come (he has an aversion to writing on forms so I do it). He’s not due to reapply until next year but when the forms come in any pointers on how to phrase things would def be appreciated as I’m sure I don’t stress the impact of things enough. MRSINVIS glad DS2 got his award.

FREE sorry to hear your fibro is being a pain (no pun intended) and such a shame you had to miss the alpacas but I hope DS had a good time.

Thank you everyone for all your concern and good wishes while DH has been in hospital. The good news is that after four weeks and two days he came home on Friday evening. We’re working to a routine to make sure he gets plenty of rest and builds up his eating slowly (he’s so thin after not eating for so long) and I’m getting used to him waking me up in the night after four weeks of having the bed to myself! It’s worth it though, it’s lovely to have him home.

The snow this weekend has flattened my daffs but I think we escaped quite lightly and hopefully it will all be gone tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a good weekend.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • :hello:Hi everyone. It has been quiet on here hasn’t it.

Free fibre is a pain, have you got a bath? As a bath of Epsom salts and a few drops of lavender or peppermint oil is good for fibre pain. It helps me when my fibre acts up. If not westlab do an Epsom salt muscle spray which is really good for the pain.

Nothing going on with neighbours the authorities are letting them get away with it due to their illnesses. As quoted if someone is in pain they will act out. Well I’m chronic pain and can’t take meds and I don’t bully. So I will have to sort it out myself. The trouble makers are now getting other people to turn against me. But to be honest it’s their loss.

Nothing Christmas wise happening here. I’m trying to design an Easter bonnet for a competition I’ve entered in village.
