Something Christmassy happened today. I bought a little tin of shortbread with a red VW Beetle on it, with presents in the back and a Christmas tree on the roof. You know the style. See it loads this Christmas. Made me smile to buy something Christmassy.
The girls are keeping me busy now that dancing comp season is up and running. Lots of extra dance classes too. I've decided to try and make little charms that hand on part of their dance outfits. Hoping to sell them for team funds. Just hope I can put them together like I have in my head lol. It's just a little bit of silver chain, with a lobster clasp and 3/4 small charms (lucky shamrocks, hearts, unicorns, rainbows etc) hanging down in stages. It will keep me busy once it all arrives from eBay.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Just been looking at New Look sale. Picked up some hats at £3 each or less, a scarf & couple of jumpers. Will probably take one with me to Krakow when we go in a couple of weeks, need to keep the head warm (!), but will put the others aside for Christmas. Feels good to be doing Christmassy things again
Went to the funeral yesterday, it was huge. Unfortunately, as he was only in the UK on a working visa, none of his family could be there, it was quite heart breaking that someone so young was without his family. Today would have been his birthday so maybe it has worked out well that the repatriation meant he was home for it, hope so. His family sent a lovely message which was read at the service, so at least they were aware that a lot of people were there in their place.
Hope all those feeling a bit bleugh are on the mend.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday MURIE, hope you have a fabulous day !!! :bdaycake:
Hope everyone is well. I'm reading but not posting as things have been a bit hectic and nothing festive happening here. Had to call an ambulance for DH last Wednesday night and he's been in hospital for just over a week. He had surgery on Sunday but I think we turned a corner yesterday and hopefully he's on the mend now.
FREE hope you're still working your way through the book and it's proving a real help.
Hugs to all the poorlies, hope you're soon feeling much better. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Happy Birthday Murie :beer:_party_xxxxxxxxxx Have a lovely day.
Hope Mr Peppa is on the mend nowPeppa xxx
Same as Peppa here, except it was my stepson in ICU.Stemmed from a toothache,to an operation and ICU very quickly. He came home last night thankfully.
My daughter has out of the blue finished with her boyfriend and is in the process of moving into her own place. We have ended up with her house rabbit and a double divan in the kitchen!!!!!!!!!!
I managed a quick walk round Nottingham yesterday and picked up a quiz book for my sons Birthday in April.Nothing Christmassy going on at all.
Love to all Vxxxxxxxxxxxxx:0 -
Morning
Hope Mr Peppa is fighting for again soon Peppa
Same for your stepson vulpix and hope your daughter is doing ok after a split
Not much to report here. We went to the Harry Potter studio tour with the tickets I won which was amazing. It was great to have a "free" day out - ok it cost us petrol and a little bit each for a photo we wanted but seeing as we hadn't paid for entry or the guidebooks and audio tour we allowed ourselves to spend a little.
Don't mind this cold spell as long as the snow stays away. Need to get out the house today as cooped up all yesterday as other half was writing up a unit for his work course.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes, going to be a quiet birthday by our families standards as DS, Mom and I are still not feeling 100%. Ive been very spoiled by family and my lovely friends, and on top of all my fab pressies DD has booked to take Mom and myself to the gorgeous art deco hotel where she took me last year for Laurent Perrier Rose afternoon tea!! If you look on my IG (last year) you will see that its all dry ice and drama-ooh I am excited!
Peppa- its good to hear that he is on the mend now, its been a long week and a half for you xx.
Stokie- you don't mind spending a bit if the day has been low cost do you? Plus you have to have a 'memory' to take home x.
046- hugs x
Vulpix- oh your poor DS, glad he is home now x. Your lucky that you only have a rabbit and double bed to deal with- it could have been half a flat full!! On the plus side, you can always have a lie down in between cooking your meals xx (I would post laughing faces but I still cant post emoticons).
Hope everyone else is OK and enjoying the sunshine, even if its cold xxlovin' this site!

JAKESMUM oh your poor sister all that time thinking she had one thing and it wasn't that at all
STOKIEBECKS hope you have had a good week off, HP world is fab isn't it? Great getting in for free though
TREASUREQUEEN I have heard about Mindfulness but I don't know what it actually is, perhaps I ought to look into it, thankyou
MRSINVISIBLE oh I'm so glad it wasn't a horrible ordeal for you and DS, it makes a change to hear that someone was almost human. Ooh I have never heard of a Zhushon I bet it is gorgeous
KERRI could you try selling them on facebay?
PRINCESSKITTY haha it was a long time but I downloaded the app and used the code reader so could just scan each cd, if I had had to input manually every barcode I don't think I would have botheredHope you have a lovely few days away in the caravan
NIC the shortbread tin sounds very cute, hope you have a good weekend with the girls dancing, have you started your charms yet, did they turn out as you wanted?
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh what a shame that his family couldn't be at the funeral, it must have been awful for them
PEPPAPIG I hope DH is recovering well and will be home soon. Yes I am still working through it, its amazing how many memories are coming back to me
VULPIX oh dear your poor stepson that's quite dramatic from something like toothache to intensive care, it must have been quite frightening for all of you, I hope he is recovering well now
04624181 How are you? Is your back still bad? DD2s back went the other night while she was putting Thumper to bed, she had to ring her partners mum (they live in the same road) to come and help her
MURIE I am glad you are having a lovely birthday my lovely, and getting spoiled. The afternoon tea sounds fab, you do have lovely kids who are very thoughtful. Sorry you are still so unwell, and your poor mum having caught it as well, I hope she is ok!#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Happy Birthday Murie!
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY I hope the funeral went well (that sounded really weird but you know what I mean) So sad his family couldn't attend
PEPPAPIG So sorry about your DH, hoping he is on the mend.
VULPIX Your poor stepson, that sounds so scary, from a tooth issue!
FREESPIRIT It was a bit of a bitter sweet victory, my sister and I have similar problems and always said that the ME label was wrong, we've had doctors say its all in her head, that she was ill and is now just conditioned to it etc, so to finally be able to stand up and say SEE! she was ill! is great, but the diagnosis sucks. She'll never get better
Well I have FINALLY finished the darned ESA form and the bloomin PIP people rang last night to book DH in for a face to face next week and then my appointment fell on the mat this morning for the week after! I really did have a 'are you flipping kidding me!' momentI swear they wont be happy until i'm stuck back in bed from exhaustion
On a more positive note, saw the Rheumatologist yesterday and she has said I also have fibromyalgia, was horrified that a doctor told me at 16 when he saw me about chronic back pain 'well everyone gets back pain once in a while don't they', and has decided to scan me from the shoulders to the toes in the MRI machine (and took most of my blood as well just to see if anything else might have been missed :rotfl: ). I'm a bit OMG! about it as i've never had anyone show any interest at all really, just got told to deal with it, but a bit panicky it might come back as the same as my sister or even more scary . . another dead endSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000
