PK - I actually don't mind listing & photographing the stuff. I restrict myself to putting no more than 10 on at any time so I take all the photos then just sit watching some TV while I list everything. But the post office trips are the bane of my life! Especially when everyone pays at different days :(

We are going to Amsterdam, I am really looking forward to it as I've never been before but my OH has. Kids grow up so quickly don't they! It doesn't seem long ago you were pregnant with Wiggle & now you have 2 and one of them is going to big school!! I like kerri's idea of facetiming your friend occasionally for a coffee break or something similar, just for a catch up & to keep in touch.

Kerri - I saw that New Year quote too & loved it when I saw it.

Hi MrsI, hope you manage to catch up soon. We do chat a lot don't we!!

I've had a crazy busy time of it in work lately but things are starting to settle down a bit now. It's been one drama after another and as the only senior manager that reports directly to the Directors, I am involved in everything in one way or another. Glad to finally have things getting back to an even keel though & looking forward to a few big changes that are happening this year.

Evening everyone, where does the time go??? Its already 6 days since I was last on here!!! The biggest surprise so far from the workbook is I have Agoraphobia, as well as Panic Disorder, Social Phobia and Specific Phobia, it really has made me think and some bad memories have come up from my childhood which has rocked me, will just keep at it, a few pages at a time.

GIRLINAYELLOWDRESS ooh I didn't know there were apps as well will look into that

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh honey that is very sad and when it is a shock it makes it so much worse. My BF moved away to Devon a long time ago and although contact has got less since her husband retired I still regard us as close friends. Hope your meal at Covent Garden was lovely

PEPPAPIG that must have been terrible for you to cope with two close loved ones deaths so close together. Glad you are really pleased with the bedroom, calm and tranquil sound idyllic

JAKESMUM these forms bring so much heartache to people, it really is so wrong

PRINCESSKITTY nice to see you on here, they grow up so fast make the most of them, I really miss mine being toddlers

LMG I really really need to declutter the whole house too. I loved Amsterdam when we went there, hope you have a great time

  • Morning all! I’m just sitting in bed having a cuppa whilst DH has the boys downstairs, he’s going out tonight before bathtime and bedtime so I think I’m allowed! The big news here is that DH got a new job yesterday. I don’t think I’ve been on here to say that DH works for a company that contracts him out to other companies, his contract with an employer ended in October and he has been ‘on the bench’ since then. It’s been lovely to have him at home with us and we’re very lucky to have had that time but he was starting to get restless since the new year and definitely needed a sense of direction so it’s great news he got this new contract yesterday. He’ll still be working from home which is fantastic for work/life balance as no long commute.

I suppose I should get up soon as some friends and I are supposed to be going out to let our children run wild but I’ve got a bit of a cold which is making me feel a little bit lazy!

kerri you are completely right, the world is a much smaller place these days. Love the Skype/Face Time idea! I love that quote about the New Year, so true.

LMG Oh I know, time really does fly! Yes that’s the difficulty with the parcels isn’t it, when everyone pays at different times. I know some sellers have specific days they post parcels and clearly put it in the description. Ah Amsterdam is good, it’s lovely by the canals. And a trip to the Anne Frank museum is a must – fascinating!

Freespirit I have missed what workbook you are doing but it sounds as though it is going to be helpful to you. It’s always tough going through the what’s and whys, especially from childhood, but I do hope that when you come out the other side it has done you some good.

Afternoon. glad to see Mrs I and PK back and posting!
Ive read along (mostly) but on my phone as I don't have much to say at mo so didn't intend to post anything.
Today I have bought a Christmas door wreath form Matalan for £5, I was intending to put some copper wire lights in it but when I got it home I realised that it already has lights in it! I have been looking for a new wreath as mine is looking a bit tatty so I am over the moon with this one.

This weather is not nice, although yesterday when I went to the park with The Hound I noticed that the snowdrops are in flower and the crocus are poking their heads up. That cheered me up cus its a gentle reminder that Spring (and the warmer weather) is just around the corner.
    Hugs to poorlies x

GTQ- so sorry to hear your sad news x

Jakes-mum I hope you are feeling less stressed and haven't had any more horrible post.

Free- you are making great progress by simply identifying issues xx

PK- they don't stay babies long do they? I miss my two being small.

LMG- I would like to visit Amsterdam. The kids are part paying for me to go to Rome for my birthday present. I am so excited to visit Vatican City for some reason.

GYD- it seems there is an App for everything these days! How did we survive without them?!

  • murie great find with the wreath!

Well today DH and I were supposed to be going on a long overdue lunch date but unfortunately we had to collect Wiggle from pre-school and take him to the doctors, turns out he’s got impetigo. We were having a lunch date as Squeak keeps waking up in the evening but then the other one scuppered our plans! This was part of my ’12 Dates of Christmas’ for DH, I bought him a voucher for our favourite restaurant so hopefully we’ll be able to use it soon. We still haven’t done January’s date which is a movie night as Squeak was poorly for most of January, I knew I was being a bit ambitious with this present! :p Wiggle is still very much himself though thankfully he’s just got some spots on his face.

Afternoon all, just sitting down with a cuppa before attacking the housework.

PKsorry to hear your plans were scuppered, hope you get to use the voucher soon. At least it isn't anything more serious with Wiggle. Great news about DH new job.

Free sounds like the workbook is proving really useful, if you know what things you want to personally address, that's half the battle. I won't call them 'issues' because that would sugggest its tings that fixing, we're all just different people and sometimes I think it's society that try's to insist we should all act / do the same things that is the problem, we're not all round pegs for round holes.

We've had a bit of a decorating disaster, unfortunately a friend attempting stuff that he wasn't really up to doing, so now instead of putting the room back together this weekend as planned, I've been making calls to get people to come and quote to fix things. The most annoying thing is that the paper that is now ruined was very expensive...and I now need to rebuy it  trying not to dwell on that too much but a total pita and an expensive lesson learned.

On other news, I picked up a couple of hats for DN x2 in the Accessorize sale today, for next Xmas, but they were very sweet (little penguins) and will go with something. They did have some kind of white furry animal hats too which I'm wondering if the girls would have liked instead. It's a bit of a case of adult taste (penguin being a bit more tasteful) vs child taste (furry thing being more fun)

Afternoon. It's a bit dreich here today. I should be doing more decluttering, but I've been enjoying doing very little and reading my book.

I've been to view the house I was offered. It's tiny and I'm just not feeling the love. It's a nice enough house, with a new kitchen and all freshly painted white. It would save me over £250 a month. But the kids don't want to leave their schools and friends. I have til Monday 10am to decide, so they can offer it to the next on the list. I just love where I am, but I applied for the housing association as I was left with a house I struggle to afford. So it seems silly to refuse. But I'm loving the space, the views, the 2 bathrooms, big back garden and the nice feeling I get walking in here. I think for the sake of money I would end up depressed in a tiny house with 1 bathroom and a view of someone else's back garden. I look out into the country here. I've been having panic attacks just working it all out.

I've been trying to do more positive things, just for me,to keep me feeling ok. I've been swimming, shopping, cut my hair short and dyed it back to dark red. Maybe I'm having a midlife crisis lol.
