  • Just a word of warning the Christmas cards in the works be careful as I bought three packs of 10 last year and only six of the cards overall were ok. Most of the cards had a defect on them or the envelope had rips in it.

Happy Halloween. Tomorrow is the day I start to really think and look forward to Christmas :j.
I went into Tesco to see if they had any reduced Halloween stuff for next year, it was replaced by all the Christmas stuff!

Tesco did have the big tins of sweets back to 2 for £7 again. Also some nice loreal and other nice smellies gift sets reduced. I picked up some Impulse body sprays for the girls stocking.

    Happy Birthday Peppa xx

On the subject of being more eco-friendly at Christmas - I now try and avoid cards and wrap with glitter or foil as these cannot be recycled - the glitter especially clogs up the recycling machines and is too fine to be effectively separated out.

If people are doing glittery crafts though, there are a number of widely available eco / bio degradable glitters on the market if sparkly bling is your thing :)

Stokie- I noticed white tinsel in Wilkinsons yesterday, i think it was either £1 or £1.25, (it was you that wanted white tinsel wasn't it?)

Thanks for that Murie. Thankfully I am sorted now thanks to this thread and all the wonderful folk on here especially Kerri who found me some that matched what I already had and kindly sent me some when Poundworld was closing down.

We have been away for a few days and walked the illuminations at Blackpool again. Love the walk - all 5 miles of it. Felt this year it was exceptionally quiet (maybe because it is the last week of the lights)

I bought a lovely bag off the market - it's a snowman design. And I just couldn't resist!

Today is goig to be spent doing a few more cards for the school xhristmas fair so I have plenty of choice. Need to get some change for a float over the next couple of weeks.

    Hope everyone is ok

  • Happy birthday Peppapig! Have a wonderful day :)
  • Christmas update - a few more presents purchased from M&S. That is a couple of members finished off now! I have a list for 100% the rest of the presents and most I am holding off until Black Friday to see if there is a reduction.
I have been sooooo tempted to get myself the advent calendar and spend £35 on clothes but I don't really buy them for myself or OH so I am staying away. I watched my first Christmas film today on Netflix too lol.
I have also opened a savings account to start putting money away for Christmas. £7 a week by standing order for Christmas 2019. I read it somewhere and thought it is a good idea. It is limited access too so I won't be tempted to break in!
I am starting a new job in a couple of weeks so my days of relaxation planning Christmas are sadly nearing an end. But I already feel so prepared and excited beyond belief.
