, DH want's me to edit 10 years worth of photos, pick out the best and then have them framed, to gift framed photos. I mean.... it sounds great but... I could just to go M&S and then I'm done?
I'd suggest to DH that is a lovely idea and he'd better crack on and do it then before time runs away, and you are so pleased he is helping to cross two people off your 'to do' list.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thank you for the games suggestions. Some I've never heard of that sound good, so I'll have a look this week :j
Mismoose, My kids are 7,11 and 13 plus a couple of other young kids in the family. So def needs to be family friendly. So many are 12+ and the little one doesn't know what most of the questions are. That's why the trivial pursuit family edition has been a big hit.
Kerri gt I had a look for Dingbats, but I'm not sure if they still make it. There's a great chatty shop in the next town, they have a wall of board games. Usually 5 games for £4. So I'll keep an eye out there too.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

You might be right about Dingbats - I think I looked for one a while back and couldn't find one - or it had changed format. This was the one we used to play

There was also Dingbats Jnr in a yellow box I recall...ahh yes...I was right

We also used to play Charades which was family friendly...well until my mum acted out 'Flash in the pan' to Uncle Bob :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Used to love Dingbats. We don't tend to play board games at Christmas but Mum has usually got a supply of silly little quiz games for us plus ring toss has been popular last couple of years when she brings that out.
Well it is almost the end of October and don't think I will be done - probably looking more at middle of November but suppose as long as I am done for end of November at latest it won't be too bad. Think trouble this year is I have focused more on doing enough cards to stock my little stall for the school fair :rotfl:
Usually start saving for the following Christmas on November 1st too. Need to have a think about budget and whether to maintain the amount we save or increase it slightly as I know I am over again . I am just not strict enough with myself :rotfl:£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Lidl have a couple of things coming in stock in the next week or so that would make good presents for a couple of people next year....is it too soon to be buying for Christmas 2019? Not sure if I'm just buying them for the sake of it, but they're quite a good thing for that age I think.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Welcome LOZ01.
THRICE I was going to say the same as KERRI but she said it betterI was just going to say tell OH that they get house coats unless he wants to do the photo gifts lol.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Welcome loz01. We have a couple of family birthdays in November, especially my sisters on the 28th. So the rule is usually after her birthday has passed, Christmas is in full flow.
This year December the 1st falls on a Saturday, so that's when we will put up the tree and decs.
My only Christmas purchase this week was a cute blue top from Next for my dd. She loves dr who and its blue with a rainbow going across. She seen it in the shop last week and said that was the one the new dr wears. So I had to get it for her.
Today I'm off to get a couple of bits for Halloween. I told the kids all outfits were to be home made this year. The only thing I will buy is one small accessory. Youngest dd is going to be a cat, so I need cat ears, my DS is going with a friend as Rick and Morty so he needs blue hair spray and my eldest dd wants fake blood so she can be a demon dancer.
Our Halloween is on Friday. In the town where we live and close surrounding area. They always have Halloween on the last Friday of the month. No one quite knows why, but common thought is because most men and woman would have been paid on a Friday so they could buy stuff. This year it just seems so much earlier than everywhere else. But we all go out trick or treating on Friday instead of next Wed.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Hi again, just checking in really, nothing new Christmassy here, except that l have made a small inroad into the wrapping frenzy, and have completed 3 complete families presents, wrapped them and put each families gifts into 1 box which l have also wrapped, so that there can be no 'feeling and squeezing ' and guessing what they have got.
Most cards are written, but l have no idea what to get the grandnibs or their parents. DDIL usually sends me a 'wish list' of them all but it hasn't materialised yet. Also no idea what to buy for FIL who is well into his nineties has enough clothes slippers and stuff to last him another 90 years. He no longer drinks whisky, and doesn't like chocolates or biscuits!! Oh, and as he is in a residential care home, all his needs are met and his wants are too. The place he is in is lovely with super staff and great care.
As the family aren't arriving til Christmas eve afternoon l wont be putting up the decorations until late, so that l don't get bored by them before 12th night. (did l really say that ld be bored with Christmas decs?, must go and wash out mouth for such heresy)
we don't play games over Christmas, our traditions are pantomime and feeding the ducks. and elf on the shelf, but as they aren't here til 24th...
Right , time to get cracking with the day, have to take DS2 to hospital 1 1/2 hrs away for a nasty procedure he is having tomorrow, and as the prep for it is horrible too, l have decided we will stay in a hotel the night before, so we are close to the hospital tomorrow.
have a good day, all, keep christmassing onward.x0 -
Mrsinvisible does FIL have anything like a kindle or book reader? If he's not a reader perhaps some audiobooks might be suitable? Something that won't take up additional space either.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
